At least in the UK we had Thatcher and she brought democracy and the rule of law together. We have a civil democracy. Although due to incidents involving purple paint it is fading.

I strongly believe the UK is more free than the US anyway.

Well....seems he's dead now... <sniff sniff> We'll remember you killdozer guy!

Adapted from American Pie...
"A short, short, while ago
I can still remember how that killdozer used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance that I could make those people run
And maybe they'd be frightened for a while
But June made me sweat with every election paper I'd regret
Bad news on the doorstep, I couldn't take one more step
I can't remember if I cried when I read about his widowed bride
But something touched me deep inside the day the dozer died died.

So bye bye Mister Killdozer Guy
Drove your Dozer to the levy but the levy was dry
And them good 'ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye singin'
This'll be the day that you die
This'll be the day that you die."

 Wow. I wonder how much money it will cost to rebuild things...nope, layers of steel and a layer of concrete would have stopped much of the blastIt was a plate of steel one-half inch thick, some concrete, and another plate. New RPGs can pierce 600mm of homogeneous armoured steel or 1,300mm of reinforced concrete. I don't think one would have much trouble with one inch of non-armor steel and some non-reinforced concrete.

its not like the insurgents are using up to date tech :PFine, an old RPG(-7) can pierce 330mm of armor. An RPG will have no trouble. If you want to go back to the RPG-2, it will still pierce 180mm of armor.

From what I've heard about the LA guy, he was high, on something, and he was a member of the army or something. He stole the tank and just wandered around the streets for a while. I figure he got off the fort, because well, to be quite honest, iron gates aren't going to stop a fucking tank.

I salute the killdozer man! -- A living (well, not any more) proof of Yankee ingenuity.

I do feel for the Denver PD, however: they must've felt quite frustrated shooting and shooting at the killdozer with their little 9mm pistols, all to no avail. Therefore, here's a two-fold proposal: the U.S. gov't should offer tax breaks to the manufacturers of armoured killdozers, as well as use funds earmarked for Homeland Security to equip police departments across the land with Apache Longbows.

The benefits would be truly immence:
1. New jobs created by the makers of killdozers, ground attack helicopters and whoever gets to clean up the mess.
2. Crazy people meeting fiery death when Apaches attack their killdozers with anti-tank missiles.
3. No more silly car chases on World's Wildest Police Videos. Here comes the real deal.
4. Radical environmentalists will not object: nothing destroys a car lot full of SUVs like a killdozer.
5. Catholic nuns (http://www.sweenytod.com/rno/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=780) are pumped up for killdozers, too.

You can buy a Russian T-34 for £8000! Imagine rolling down a small suburb with a fully street legal T-34 at 6am. Everyone would be peering out of their windows. You stop, turn the turret towards a random guys house, open the hatch at the top, shout "Bang!" turn the turret back, and drive off. Now that's how to scare someone.
Also, TAR, there's only 1 Maus left, from the battle of Berlin. That thing was so big it ran over other tanks. What you really want is the Soviet IS-3m. So good they used it til the 60s.
