All facetiousness aside, I just completed my sophmore year at the University of Arizona.

Cornell University. And I'll tell you, it was rather interesting to observe the political dynamics on a campus that was formerly one of the most liberal in the country. The many spectacular battes between my dorm (Risley Residential College for the Arts) and the college's rabid conservatives (particularly those from the Review and the Econ department) were especially interesting.

CMU was planned, but while brilliant enough to get in, I ain't brilliant enough to get many scholarships. Thus, for undergrad, I'm going to U. Pitt for damn-near-free, which will let me take classes there. There's always grad school, and they'll know me well enough by then to be afraid if they don't pay me to go there.
My old backup was Annapolis, but they have no sense of humor there and they're so poorly read and educated. Everyone laughs at any mention of the number 69, but no 23's, and even 42's don't merit a chuckle. Then there was the matter of my finding a guy somewhere near the end of the admissions process, and while the USNavy is the world's largest gay-sex discount outlet, they're not fond of having it shoved in their faces.

Either I go back into the closet for 12 years and come out with (garunteed) half a million and a Master's from a prestigious college that's geared towards (relative to myself) halfwits, or I can have fun for five years, come out damn-near-broke, and know something with (hopefully) a Master's from somewhere I'll feel like an addled child. Then, after the next seven, probably make way more than the half-million anyway.
It took me about 3 seconds to figure that one out. I'm ashamed I even gave security above liberty a moment's thought.

Heh. Another Obie? That picture was very nearly the view from the window of my apartment across the street for a year and a half of my time there.

Stole (though, technically, I paid for it) soy milk, bananas, and cheese for lunch for a year between jobs, class, and osca duties. The picture fills me with nostalgia. Annoying that.

Fun times.
