My best ever memory was when members of the General forum, including Beeker and Big Mad Vikings, invaded the NationStates forum to "steal back our bandwidth"*. The thread was called "The Beachhead" or something, and The SLAGLands "longshore drifted" it back to the General forum.

(*RPers are fond of saying how General is a waste of bandwidth and should be deleted to save bandwidth for them to... play with dragons or whatever it is they do)

And then Scolo went and DEATed RedSoviet for it etc...

My first real thread on Banning Arms for children, that was a good memory. As was the funny little thread of someone saying hello, then getting annoyed.

The time I opened my own club. I was inspired by the previous clubs like Pet and Iki's Shop, The Volcano, and Lonely Hearts Club.

Now that those are gone I am the owner of the oldest club we have around here, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have so many fond memories of NS, being here got me through some of the darkest times of my life, as scary as that is... but the best i have is being plesantly surprised when one of my legendary flirting sessions ended up a wonderful and caring relationship with my wolf... Love you Hans! :D

I have literally done almost everything there is to do in this game. Within the next month or two, I will have ticked everything other than ruling a Pacific.

I have obviously had great fun along the way, and there have been countless cool moments. But I'm running out of worlds to conquer. :(

There was once a six page religious thread without a single flame or flame-bait. It was truly miraculous. That and some other good threads in which people actually thought about what they were saying, some of the metaphysics threads were pretty good, because everyone who had no idea just avoided them.

Hans and Silver, ironic that the people I've had some of the biggest arguments with were once such good friends.

There were a few good memories from previous threads, of course I loved reading the invasion although I did not participate. Other than that, it would have been just about any chat topic with any of my old buddies in it. I liked the little "war" between Silver and RR, the hideout was quite interesting. This place used to keep me from getting ANY work done. :?

I'm pretty new but so far I've had the most fun on the Do something twisted to the previous poster thread. That and the word games.

Ah...so many memories....

There was the excitement of the "fire at the UN HQ" when Francos was *this close* to being ousted.....

There were the frequent crashes of August/September....

There was the thrill of actually having one of my questions asks at the first MaxChat....

There was the other thrill, combined with the massive loads of unhelpful telegrams and vicious debating in the UN forum, of having a UN resolution passed....

There was the "Marathon's Deletion" thread, possibly the best DEAT ever....

There was the RP involving Westrogoticae, Stubby, LadyRebels, and Ziobia, with myself becoming involved at the end, which protested the poor quality of UN proposals (and this was almost a year ago, so don't tell me that they've gotten worse)....

There was the Mod Corner threads of October....

There was the fun of NationStates's first anniversary in November....

*Sigh* It seems like NationStates has become stagnant since about January, really ever since the answer to my MaxChat question was given. Maybe NS has just gotten too big, and all of the really obnoxious troublemakers have been banned or left (heck, I've haven't seen a good DEAT in months). Hopefully things will pick up a bit after the Jolt move.

I've got a prolly not new idea on how to fix things.
Start Over.

Everything, New Nations, New Issues, New UN, New Mods, New Forums, and we would delete all the old posts. It wouldn't be very hard and we could even vote on the MODS. You would be able to get your say and the UN wouldn't be so corrupt (maybe) It would at least buy us some time. Everybody could get their old nation name back though.

Nations also will have new options like National Flower, National Tree, National Bird. That sorta stuff. Maybe even a national seal.

The world is bright with new possibilities.
