I hope you can come to grips with this: the US is the Imperial force that is oppressing the citizens of Saudi Arabia. Our Military is protecting the fascist Royal Family. Big oil has transplanted 30,000 Americans to work the Saudi oil field while the citizens are impoverished.

...If you had phrased this one thousand times better, and avoided the pendantic chanting of slogans, and had a greater command of the facts at your disposal...I perhaps would have been able to support the argument that there are some similarities between the Royal Families of Sauidi Arabia and 18th century England.

There are some, important similarities that might help people understand why people don't like the Saudi Royal family very much. However, this hotel raid is hardly the same thing as the fairly bloodless Boston Tea party. In fact, I'd be willing to venture that this hotel raid has very little to do with the political protest indeed, considering the people involved.

You would do well to calm down and focus on refining your arguments. However justified you feel it is, anger over the Patriot Act hardly supports your argument about the Saudi raid. You got diverted very easily, and in a debate, that'll halt your line of reasoning and destroy your argument's credibility.

I would be happy to see the Saudis make moves towards democracy and be more accomodating to the Islamic moderates, yet whenever Islamic militants/extremists/terrorists/whatever are involved my support will always be fixed firmly against them.

The patriot act isnt the best thing in my opinion..Though it does keep us safe it violates some of our Citizens Rights as Americans. I also believe though that rights are for peace time if it means that we can save lives by taking away a few rights then so be it. :?
