Saudi Terrorism

I was reading the coverage of the recent events in Saudi Arabia and on closer inspection I've founda real ogic hole.
-Would the terrorists, supposedly cnnected to the most sofistocated and powerfull terror network in the world mount such an incopotent assault?
I mean, they were well armed and had plenty of men so why would they only manage to kill 20-something westerners? and bigger question-
-Why was the most wanted Saudi terrorist participating in the actuall assualt as the gov't claims?
so If anybody wants to comment on the attack in general or provide any insight into to the above questions that would be greatly appreciated.

They probably weren't a group directly associated with al-Qaeda, but rather, one of their many affiliates who do the dirty work. If this is al-Qadea, then they're somehow planing something much larger.

Every blow can't be a knock-out. Even among terrorists, most people are inept.

Another mystery is why the terrorists continue to go after people, instead of attacking the poorly-defended Saudi oil infrastructure. Here's a link to a blogger who explores this issue (some excerpts are below):
http://billmon.org/archives/001490.html
Knocking Saudi Arabia out of the oil producing business for two years would bring the global economy to its knees - and probably bring about the fall of the House of Saud. In other words, it would be an enormous victory for Al Qaeda, the kind that would make the current fiasco in Iraq look like a paper cut. And there's not much the United States could do about it, even if it invaded and occupied the Saudi oil fields. Iraq has already demonstrated the futility of trying to guard something as inherently vulnerable and sprawling as an oil infrastructure against a determined saboteur movement.
So why is Al Qaeda still fooling around with these attacks on foreign workers? Is it because they don't want to alienate Saudi popular opinion by destroying the goose that lays the petroleum eggs? Are they hoping to inherit the oil infrastructure intact once they take power? Do they have a implicit deal with the royal family (or some faction within it) to limit their attacks to the infidel devils and leave the valuable stuff alone?
I could see the House of Saud offering such a deal (and trusting that the clueless Americans will never find out about it), but what motive would Al Qaeda have for abiding by it?
I don't have any obvious answers to this riddle - or at least, none that aren't wearing silly tinfoil hats. But think about it the next time you fill up your tank, because it's probably the only thing standing between you and a $6 gallon of gas.

Just because you're from al-Qaeda doesn't mean you've got the training of Spec Ops, just means more ammo for you AK and RPG.

I don't know, why did they feel the need to ram planes into buildings? That's like asking why the Mafia got involved in gambling.
I live in Saudi Arabia, and all the schools except mine are closed, dammit, i have to go to school tommorow
