Morals or money?- What have you historically gone for?

in the course of your life so far, what has been more important? Morals or money?
Unfortunately for me it has been money but I"m changing lately.
Morals, which is why anarcho-communism is my political theory. Freedom and equality are much more important than wealth.

Well, if I had to pick one of the two, I'd guess it would be Morals. I love money, don't get me wrong, but I have an overactive conscience. For example, I'm fine with picking up a 5 dollar bill from the floor and walking away quickly, but if I see a wallet I'll do all I could (well, not all, really, but a valiant attempt) to get it to its owner.

Morals. You can't take money with you when you die.
You cant take anything with you when you die; you are dead, blackness, cease to exist.

Can't you keep your off-topic crap away from anything?
I like this thread. Let's keep it on topic.

I'm just curious as to why people think that morals and money are mutually exclusive? I mean, sure there are rich folks that could do more for charity, but does that make them neccessarily imoral?
Making a good living is not generally an indication one way or the other as to the moral nature of the people involved. Success does not have to come from cheating or screwing people along the way.

Well, first I would like to say, the question appears to be, which have you historically gone by, so instead of stating a reason, state an example.
I would say morals because one time this guy offered me $100 to go out with him for a week and I said no because I am not a prostitute, he was a creep, and I heard he rapped a 12 year old.
for me the two are not mutually exclusive, so i have never had to pick one or the other.

plus if you went for $100/week you would be a pretty damn cheep prostitute.
it was just to date him, not to sleep with him. And I'm only 15, so $100 is a lot to me.

Who's the second one who put money first.

at 15 you could be getting about 2 grand a week as a non-sexual escort. no joke. if you're a clean suburban girl (read: white and affluent) then you would get even more.
a friend of mine mingled in that world for a while, so i've got the insider info...you don't have to do more than smooching to make a hella grip a money as an escort, especially if you are young.
not that i am saying you should be an escort, just saying that $100 is what you pay the cheapest, dirtiest, 40-years-in-the-life hooker, so that guy was a creep twice over for such a shoddy offer.
Money has as much in common with morals as it does sleep. They are unrelated.

I'd like to think i've gone for morals. But it's hard to tell.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with making a good living. However, even though I did benefit from the Common Sense "tax cuts", I would have preferred that the Government keep them rather than cutback funding to healthcare, schools, and the infastructure of our cities and towns.
If a person solely believes that money is the most important thing in life, then I would suggest that their morality was suspect.
Donating money, food, clothing, or my time to those less fortunate in our society helps me sleep at night.

I've never had the opportunity to compromise morals in favour of money, unless you count not giving my small earnings to charity.

I believe Cuneo is asking if you would be willing to compromise your morals for some extra cash.

Neither, because I'm a non-materialisted amoral son of a bit*ch with major issues and a need for art.
