Sounds like he's talking about liberals here, to me. How men revile them, say all manner of evil against them falsely, so on and so forth.

But really. you parents (and this site) are doing what they are supposed to be doing. The whole idea behind having an democracy/republic is that the electorate will infrom themselves and debate to make the best choice possible. You're supposed to argue politics. The founding fathers did almost nothing but-they didn't agree except that they agreed that disagreement was requisite.

I'm a Christian socialist. I disagree with gay rights, and I support equality, although I don't think that all capitalists will burn in hell. Although, Matthew 5:11 is talking about Christians, not liberals.
