Jack the Ripper, definitely. He scares me still.

Yeah he was scary.

I'm hoping someone comes on here with the whole list from the show because that show is never on anymore. I watched a lot of it though, like the first half. I remember it like this.

10. The Marilyn Sheppard Murder
9. Jack The Ripper (you would think he'd be higher)
8. The Disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa
7. The Green River Killer
6-1. ?
The Sadistic Skinhead

there was a thread about that recently...someone posted an interesting link to an article about it...I don't know how factual it was, but it looked like they had a good lead a while after the murder took place, but then he died
Maybe the person that posted the link knows...

He was the one with "multiple personalities"?
That was in my psych book...he said he had two personalities, then the psychologist said that in order to be classified as MPD, a person has to have three personalities, and whatta you know? He developed a third almost immediately...

i chose "other."

any of you folks ever heard of D. B. Cooper?

He was a man that nobody knew at all, who appeared at an airport, calmly wrote a message to a flight attendant with a bomb threat to get the crew's attention, and controlled the course of the flight through these notes. None of the handful of people whom he spoke to could accurately describe his voice. He had the plane land, where the FBI gave him fabulous amounts of ransom money, and he ordered the pilot to take off. He had also picked up two parachutes, and after directing the plane to a certain area of the woods he opened the tail hatch midflight and jumped out. He was never seen again.

while there's wild speculation about the crimes on the poll, there's barely any about D. B. Cooper because nobody could even imagine who he was, where he came from, why he did it, or where he is now. the perfect crime.

They thought they found the zodiac killer when he was on his death bed. But he swore he wasn't and he said he knew who it was right before dying.

Who killed king AlbertI now that we know that the king was allready dead and brought to the rocks were he often climbed. Why was the body not photographed by a police doctor? When they even did it with normal people that die under such conditions?

Why wasn't the bastard put to death.

i think because he agreed to give a full accounting of all the murders and help locate any bodies still missing. the prosecuters must have figured it was worth it to have all aspects of the case wrapped up.

Oh. Well that guy's smart. 49 murders go unsolved since 1986 or something, right. And then he doesn't even get executed for them.

but a really boring man, from the stuff i've seen on him he isn't the least bit colorful or interesting. he just methodically killed almost 50 women, then when he was finally caught confessed to them all in a terse unembelished monotone.

Why does America have so many serial killers today? :?

a very mobile alienated culture where the killers can find strangers for victums who are alone, vulnerable and won't be missed for a while, coupled with decent law enforcement which doesn't eventually see patterns in apparently random murders and disappearances.

prostitutes are often just the easiest victums. they have close contact with strangers(infact go to secluded areas with them). they are often not missed quickly. they don't generally leave much documentation of their recent personal contacts. they are considered of low value by the society and the authorities, therefore their cases don't get much attention until there is a pattern. they are often victums of other sources of violence so a few deaths doesn't create the same obvious pattern the murder of college students or respectable townsfolk would.

Other thing is, people think of prostitution as immoral and low class. So no one really cares SO much if a prostitute dies. It's unfortunate because they are human too.
