On my Hoyle Computer Poker Game, although I do better in 5 card Draw.
But I love watching it on tv, and Rounders is one of the best movies ever.

You should play online. There are some good free sites. Pokerroom.com for instance. I'm on there right now. It is much fun.

I spend too much time online as it is. If I started playing games, my girlfriend might leave me.

That'd be no good.

Not at all, especially since she just started a job where one of the benefits is a free case of beer every week and a discount on however much she wants to buy. And good beer--a local brew. I am indeed a lucky man.
Speaking of which, I'd better get my lucky ass to bed.

Texas Hold 'em? Sweet. I've loved that game since I first saw it on TV. I've since taught all my friends to play, usually for candy (We're poor) on holidays or birthdays.
Given our earlier conversation Our Earth, I think I can understand why you might like the game. Its kind of a no-brainer that I would get a kick out of it as well, given my propensity for such contests of information dissembling and gathering.

It is indeed a wonderful game to play for fun and profit. Mostly I play online for play money. I just need to learn to be a little less aggresive and I might actually make some money (such as it is). Some of my friends and I play for small amounts of real money sometimes and it's cool. You've gotta find that balance where it's enough money that people actually take it seriously but no one gets too pissed when they lose.

Every day I get on there I refill my account, take the thousand bucks, make some 10 or 20 grand, then lose it all. It is much fun.

Fascinating. So I wasn't entirely incorrect when I mentioned a need to maintain a balance between dominance and pliance within a given situation.
Of course the theory is sound but my practical application may be somewhat lacking, I remember getting owned by one of my friends 'cause I bluffed a little too hard on a pair of Ladies. He swooped down with a three of a kind and took me out of the game after just two hands.
...and I really wanted that butterfinger. (Yeah, I think we had trouble taking it seriously after a while, but still we had fun)

Man I had the worst luck ever tonight. I'd bet out big pre-flop with a good hand and people would call with awful hands but then pull random amazing hands out of their asses and beat me. In some 10 hands I had pocket 10s, jacks, queens, kings, ace/king suited, and ace/queen suited, and lost on every hand to some random person calling when they shouldn't then rivering amazing hands. Oh it was terrible!
This truly is among the greatest card games ever. I play it all the time.... a little too much at times... I play on the pokerpages.com server now...

I play Texas Hold'em and nearly any other kind of poker. I never gamble on-line though, I need to see faces in order to play poker.
I watched the World Series of Poker and that was Texas Hold'em. Its an awesome type of poker and its great to watch, although Ive never played it.
