No, not the usual boring right/left crap about the economy and social classes. No an actual war that the wealthy starts when they hire a private army to kill all the poor.
Trenches are dug in the sidewalks! The private armies and mercenaries turn the ghettos into war zones! But the poor fight back by using guerilla tactics! Can they really hold out against an enemy with superior numbers, firepower, and tactics?!

The economy slows down as battles rage on in the streets! Trenches are dug in the sidewalks! The private armies and mercenaries turn the ghettos into war zones! Then what happens to the middle class? Do they go on with their business? Do they help defend the poor against the warmongering of the rich? OR would the rich want to take them out too? If they do enter the war, then the economy must slow down even more, but would it get so bad that this could actually hurt the wealthy as badly as it would hurt the middle class and poor?

that would largely depend on what percentage of the hired guns actually will open fire on their friends and families. after all, the grunts of any army come almost exclusively from the lower class - rich people don't do any of their own dirty work.
also important is if the poor can get access to enough weapons and build a proper set of barricades. given some weapons and defenses, they could certainly hold out for quite a while.

The poor are working class without job or with poor jobs. The working class would help and they make up the bulk of any capitalist nation.

Er, I meant for this to be a nice comedy piece making fun of class warfare. I didn't expect an actual discussion to commence.
But yeah, the poor would most likely win because they win every damn revolution. Maybe it'd be because of their advantage in sheer numbers alone, especially with the middle class on their side.
