the widespread use of genetic correcting longevity treatment wil be wide spread(it IS in the realm of possibility) so the "treatment" will fix the genetic breaks and imperfections allowing poeple to live to somewere in the 250+ year range. and the use of pulsed fusion rockets will have humanity all acros the solar system. Self replicating robots will alow the colinization of the moon. in domestic news vancouver, NY, LA, and hundreds of other costal cities will be flooded and there will be kyak races aroud the skyscrapers.
what do u thik of the future? like it?

Ahh, well in a nutshell
- I'd work to abolish political parties, as they seperate the nation much too far and can lead to further tensions...even amongst the people.
- Increase education funding, trust me, I know what I say when I say that kids are not getting a real education.
- If the UN is still around, attempt to put less American influence on it. However, funding would remain the same.
- Help out as many impoverished (sp?) nations as possible.
- Encourage territories to become states
In a nutshell....wha'd ya think?

I think when you get older and work full time and pay taxes that you will have a more realistic understanding of how the world works, of policy and the machinations of domestic and international politics.
Until then...you won't have a hope of being President. Unless you are filthy rich (which you need to be anyway in running for office).
Don't you love it how people say that any boy can grow up to be President of the USA some day. Perhaps this should be changed to:
"Any rich boy with a family fortune in excess of $30 million US can grow up to be President of the USA someday."

And it always makes me smile seeing some kid hear how the adults say that "he can be President one day!"
Yeah...in 40 years I'd like to see that kid commit sex scandels, destroy a nation, bring his own nation to an economic collapse, and break bonds with allies.
Till then, I got more than 30 (?) years before I'm eligable for Presidency.....I think I'll come up with something more realistic till then, no?

Ad Companies will attack us at an unconscious level against all of our senses and target our Hypernet accounts in previously undreamed of ways. Going online to surf the web in the future will be such a wrestling match against ad companies and unscrupulous profiteers, trying to seize your attention and all of your personal information, that only skilled professionals and a few elite amateurs will dare attempt such a thing. Clothes will no longer be off the rack, they will be made of chemical goo and shaped by nanotech bots, by requests made in computers by shoppers at Malls.
I’ll wear sensory overlay glasses, allowing me to view the World, as people would like me to see it. I look at a restaurant and I see the hours open, the menu, and the specials. I look at rapid transit stations and see schedules superimposed in my view. People who used to pay doctors for unnecessary plastic surgery will now pay computer experts for a digital makeover. Politicians will pay webmasters to enhance the beauty of their cities, with a coded whitewash, instead of actually doing something tangent to clean up the Ghettos. Officials will rage against hackers who release viruses into these systems resulting in a world of spam or marred advertisements. Most people will prefer to never take their glasses off, preferring the nicer, gentler world provided for them. Garbage dumps will be mined for resources and pets will eventually be banned in all Cities of the World.

i predict a world with a fractured USA, ruled by road gangs riding in stolen tanks.
a holy islamic empire stretching from pakistan to morroco and briefly occupying new york for about 5 years untill, after a revolution, the arabic peoples realise what a stupid idea that was in the first place.
a europe split up by unionist and nationalist politics, maybe a fourth reich poking its head out of deutschelund.
africa finally begins to emerge from its poverty as its debters eventually lose their power over the continent, and large alliance's begin to form.
a south east asian alliance between india and china presents itself as the most powerful force on the planet by far, with terretories spreading up into eastern russia.
japan, on the forefront of robotic technology survives as the principle capitalist power, having annexed most of polynesia.

So let's look at where we were in 1950, to give an idea of the sort of scale of change to be expected in the next 50 odd years.
Cars very rare, so are TVs. No computers in private homes, games are played on boards with dice. Foreign holidays are for the rich. No test tube babies. Food is weighed out instead of being pre-packaged.
Divorce is rare.
No microwave cookers. No automatic washing machines in the home. Most people cannot afford a Fridge. Clothes are made of natural materials, bleed dye everywhere and need to be ironed carefully. In Britain most heating is by coal fire, and air conditioning is unheard of.
Other than that, very little has changed that affects day-to-day life. The space programme? Its major effect on my life has been to introduce non-stick pans.
So most changes are relatively minor.

I don't think that overall, culture won't be different.
Technology will be, of course, far different. By that time, all new cars will be electric or hydrogen fuel cells, nanocomputers will be in every TV (flatscreen, of course), and the refridgerator, oven, diswasher, and microwave will be in one appliance. And as I'm stuck on the theme of energy, a new, better alternative to fossil fuels will be found.
Politically, the world will change. Among the changes:
-Europe will be filled with elderly people, and their overly socialists economies will consist mostly of a healthcare sector
-The Middle East will decline, and create far more terrorism, and more confrontations with the West
-China will rival the US in power, and the two will be locked in a friendly version of the Cold War
-The US will become a bilingual society, and it'll grow to include Mexico, Central America, parts of the Carribean, and possibly some provinces in Canada
As for me, I'll be a senator in Congress, steering the greatest civilization on the planet to its destiny.

Well, if India gets more left wing, it'll always play second-fiddle to China. But China's growth, for the long run, isn't a bad thing. The raw materials they buy now, such as aluminum, steel and cement, can be used later to refit for other sectors of the economy. China is in desparate need of a new banking system, for example, but their are plenty of buildings to house any new banks. The copper they import can be eventually used to improve their electrical grid. And there are more than enough material resources to support a republic, once China gets one. The rapid growth is only bad for the next decade or so. After that, the infrastructure and banks will be much better suited for a rapidly growing economy.
