Ok, it may not fit in with the libertarian mood that everyone has, but meh to all you.
I'd like to wish every British citizen a happy Empire day, and hope that you keep the morals prevailant in our society strong, that of charity, brotherhood, and friendliness.
You did know it was Empire day, didn't you?

Empire day hasn't really been celebrated since Britain dismantled its empire :P

We have Bermuda, the Falklands, some indian ocean territory and Gibraltar left in the Empire. Not much to celebrate

No reason it shouldn't be, the Canadians should have victory day today, and I'm sure they're related. (I can't remember, I forgot.)
Also, it's to celebrate the concept of the empire, a facet of which I entered above.
Did you know that originally, the British Empire was designed to die? The concept of it was to take a nation, and develop it until it was deemed fit to rule itself, naturally, the concept got a bit corrupted over the years, but there you go.

The concept, however, would've allowed the Empire a slow and graceful death, however. It wouldn't be the rather violent, and I feel untimely death of the British Empire. Even today, I feel Britain as a nation has never fully recovered, despite many attempts.
