I recently collected a fairly large sum of money, and I'm going to spend it on a new format. My reasoning here is that I'll go on the console-specific games (After all, that's why I picked up a Gamecube a few days ago). The question is, though, which one has the better unique games?

Right now, I'm leaning to Playstation 2. Any X-Box supporters out there?

Stick with GC!!! TONS of awesome games were showcased at E3 (the new Resident Evil, Metroid Prime 2, Paper Mario 2, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow) in the meantime, get Metroid Prime, SSB Melee, and Rogue Squadron III

I would go for the PS2. You don't need an Xbox. You already own a computer.

ps2 for single players, x-box for multi.

My 2 cents....

I own all the current systerms. I find that I play my GC the most with PS2 having the 2nd funest games....the only thing good about x-box is the racing games. Since the triggers are analog, it feel much more confortable. but PS2 all the way....

we have both and i personally like the x-box games better, i think it has a lot to do with the fact i can plan them

and as for halo, its a cool game but i hate it with a passion

I'll stick with the PS2, then. I mean, besides stupid FPS games where everything looks the same as everything else, what does X-Box have?

Go with X-Box. I got a Game Cube when it came out and now I'm seriously regretting not getting x-box instead.

PS2 is the best. It has a higher quality of game titles and several JUST PS2 games coming out. Killzone which is coming out this fall is a PS2 game ONLY FOR PS2! It has better graphics and engine than that "great game" Halo.

Halo 2 will be so sweet. But nothing will ever beat Fusion Frenzy. Except the origional Mario Kart. That was sweet. :D

holy shit, x-box.

PS2 is definitely the best all around. good graphics, best game library (shit on halo), and relatively cheap (same with acessories).

PS2 for SOCOM, Ace Combat 4, and all the Final Fantasy games. XBOX for Halo.

Well, XBox definitely has better graphics, and better memory too (IMHO). It really depends on what games you want to play. If you like Halo, Sports, and Racing, along with Mortal Kombat and Dead or Alive 3, then hell yea XBox. Of course PS2 has MORE games, I won't deny that, and you can still play PS games on the PS2 system. Really, however, I am pretty happy with my XBox, especially because of Max Payne 2, Fall of Max Payne. That and Splinter Cell. And many more. Basically, XBox has enough good games that unless you spend RIDICULOUS amounts of time playing it, you wont run out of games. And, it has better graphics. So why go with the old stuff when you can get the new, shiny XBox?

EDIT: And KOTOR. Which I have beaten an incredible 3 times. I'm pathetic...
