please explain the reason for the EU as i am confused on the matter

So they have a chance against we Americans ONCE I IMPERIALIZE!!!!!

The EU is primarily a free trade block with robust protectionist mechanisms against the exterior, but there is also ongoing convergence in law, various standards (environmental, etc), monetary policy, etc.

Some unkindly say that the end goal is a United States of Europe, but an effect such as this is likely to be achieved only on the level of bureaucratic rather than cultural homogenisation.

Well, that's life. The economic games the EU plays are the same as those of the US. In both cases, the real victims are the Third World.

As I am a lady (HAHA...:P) I shall not bring such mind withering drama to this table) but I was somewhat disappointed in your lack of good words and 'generalizations' towards things that may cause harm to this board.

Oh, I think I understand. Well, I accept we have our differences of opinion on that matter. The nature of the dispute is such, it is not going to be kind to anyone. No escaping that, I'm afraid.

Not at all. I mean that there is a lot of blood between a couple of specific communities, it may not go away any time soon, and it might be for the best for them to be kept apart.

I have no worries about others and their disputes. It was your and others generalization that made me angry. Especially considering I thought I was somewhat your friend, same as Luna, etc. To be tossed aside for things you may look over like that...just didn't seem like you. Aside from talking to you, I expected no special treatment, believe me...but to make a general statement to others at NS about all of us being "deats, spammers, and otehrwise useless" seemed rather out of taste.

There are a couple of people on that site whom I would not put into that category. I wish no offence to you and Luna. Maybe one or two other people too, I do not know the whole list of members. But what I have seen in the flame forum did, shall we say, surprise me somewhat when I was told about it and went to see it, even to the extent of questioning the true character of people I thought I had respected. My subsequent comments may have been strong and of a sweeping nature, but my observations seemed to remove many of the distinctions I had applied. I am very disappointed and disgusted with the line taken by a great many people against whom I had no grudge. I am prepared to make exceptions still, but the line has been eroded.

Tactical Grace has explained the EU quite well. By the way, 'we people' aren't angry at the USA for steel tarifs. Most people probably don't even know about American steel tarifs. Most people probably don't know where they left their keys last. I count myself as one of those people.
