Chasing Amy's budget was $250,000, Pi's was $150,000.

The Project Greenlight films are budgeted at $1 million, but are full set films with union crews and at least one name star.

I can do a pretty good calling card film for 1/4 million, get in some festivals and us it to get the next gig that someone else pays for.

I wouldn't try to make Lord of the Rings. More likely a movie where people live love and learn. You know, boring stuff.

Or the most batshit idea I can do, like Begotten the first film by the director of Shadow of the Vampire. Saying it's a Rorshak(sp) black and white film where a guy drags himself naked across a desert while being periodically beaten by nomads without a shred of dialog actually doesn't even begin to do justice to how freakin' wierd that film is...

The movie you do for you( and prove you know which way to aim the camera) can be as nutbags as you want.

Proabably because some nutbag is goin' around handin' out a million bucks to everyone...

I would spend some on a computer, good DSL connection, a new freezer, and invest some in the sharemarket. The rest would go somewhere, but I don't really know where...

This is what I'd do. I'd by a million dollar mansion and rent it out to rich bastards. Then after running it for ten years I should have around 20 billion dollars. I would then invest half of that into the stock market. After I make more money off of that, I would buy my own special forces army. I would instruct the army to go to America and give them a map of the White House. I would have them kill Bush and anyone who gets in there way. Then I would sit on my own jewel-encrusted throne and say, "I'M POPE NOW! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!".... Or I'd buy my own personalized jaguar. I'd have to think about which one I'd want more....

well converted that equals about £750,000, and so I wouldnt be able to do much with that at all.

I'm not really sure how I'd spend it but I'd probably take about a month on a beach somewhere tropical deciding :wink: .

just a nice little chunk of land someplace and some tools to play with. someplace without insanely imposing urban building codes on ownerbuilders in remote locations. i'd build little trains and little houses on it where little friends could live, and grow a lot of timber bambo and try to see if i could qualify to participate in the species survival program for red pandas in real life. one million doesn't go too far in the part of the world where i'm living now (the u.s.) but i'd have fun with it. there's a chunk of land that should belong to a certain unrecognized subtribe that i'd like to buy and make be their's agian legaly in perpetuity, i'd just want the one condition of them letting me continue to live on it. i know some of the people and i think that would work out. there really wouldn't be enough left over to live off the investment for the rest of my life though like i'd like to. i mean even as modestly as i'm living now, but as long as they let me live there and build things for the rest of my life rent wouldn't be a problem and we could probably have enough to eat.

i'd also like to get my hands on maya and lightwave and 3dsmax with a bunch of plug ins and the latest autocad and a really decent machine to run it on. maybe learn game programing in c and all that sort of thing.

i've got some really wild arcitectural ideas that i'd really love to be able to play with in real life. that and my little trains. hernia gauge ones and the little bit bigger ones that are just bearly big enough to make real transportation systems out of.

those are my fantasies. not at all extravigant really. you can't rally get all that extravigant on a single million any more, even if doing so was anything i was interested in which i'm not.

obviously i could try getting into real politics, but i know my skin isn't really thick enough for that.
