Europe lost.

In todays meeting, the EU voted through unlimited patentability. All protests have been ignored in favor of the interests of patent lawyers. This is a black day for democracy in Europe. Once again, corruption, selfishness, ignorance and abuse of power have culminated in massive damage that endless numbers of citizens will have to bear for decades. :x

Hopefully there will be something like OpenSource or even freeware in the future... remember, by patenting ideas and data structures, giving software away for free will not be viable anymore, because you need to pay patent fees for each copy or get sued. Microsoft's dreams have come true, and we will pay the price. All of us, not just "some computer geeks".

I definitely will continue the fight, that's for sure. For me, it's a complete "No Microsoft" now, and I'll also keep actively supporting the FFII, because now it's even more important than before. It's going to be a long, hard fight for which we need even more support now.

I WILL NOT BOW TO MICROSOFT! :x
Also, I will not accept patent lawyers to STEAL MY FUTURE.
