50 years ago today, on the 17th of May, 1954, The Supreme court ruled in Brown vs Board of Education that "separate facilites are inherently unequal."
50 years later, today exactly, about 22 hours ago, 17 May 2004, gay marriage is for the first time in our nation's history, legal in the United States (in my home state of Massachusetts).
Today is a great day in American history, a day of progress, of increasing equality.
Yet today is not just a great day in American history.
Today is one of the greatest dates in NationStates's history as well.
On this date, one year ago 17 May 2003, a 15 year old from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a 14 year old from Maryland discovered NationStates. One year later, these two players, now each a year older and wiser are two of the most helpful players on NationStates.
Both have contributed significantly to NS, helping new players in Nuts & Bolts, making suggesstions and goveing feedback in the Technical forum, getting involved in interregional politics, supporting good causes on NationStates, as well as posting insightful cokmments in almost every forum.
These two players have also been two of my best friends on NS for several years ago, as well as good friends to many others.
May 17th is truely on of the greatest days in history, both in the real world, and on NS.
Let's hear if for.
