-I tried to lick my elbow.
-The fact about eating bugs and spiders in your sleep greatly disturbes me and for several weeks i'll probably be thinking about that while lying in bed.

I always thought that people said "Bless You" because sneezing was a symptom of some deadly plague or something.

your heart stops for a mili-second.This is one of several unproven claims about why people say "bless you".
-The "sixth sick sheik's sixth sheep's sick" is said to be the
toughest tongue twister in the English language.I can say it with almost no trouble. :?

I looked it up and was disturbed to find that Title 14 Section 1211 existed and was "[reserved]" and unaccessable.

But the truth is out there...more accurately, here:

Generally these lists of "factoids" consist of BS, semi-BS, and misleading near BS. This one appears to be pretty much the same.

1: people who suffer from dwarfism can lick their elbows
2: The term 'bless you' for sneezing more likely relates to times when everyone thought that anything and everything meant that you were possessed.
3: urban myth. A ducks quack does echo.
4: I've heard this a number of times, and the numbers have always differed.

i have heard some of thsoe, some i havent.
i saw the mythbusters try and bust that myth about he ducks echo, kinda funny.
i thought it was thirteen insects in all, not 70 and 10 spiders ?
and when you sneeze people say bless you, that dates back to the middle ages, during the black plauge, if you choughed or sneezed people thought you were going to die, so they say bless you.
as for the elbow thing, i showed it to my friends awhile back,it was funny watching them try to lick their elbows....

2: The term 'bless you' for sneezing more likely relates to times when everyone thought that anything and everything meant that you were possessed. No, surely bubonic plague isn't it? One of the early symptoms is sneezing, and people would whip a hankerchief up to their faces and bless you, effectively praying for you not to have the plague.

yeah thats probably more accurate. I knew it would have related to a time well before they would have had much idea of how the heart worked anyway.

Oh, and in the interest of busting another...

::: holds arm out straight, raises it to face level, licks the inside of the elbow:::

That was freaking easy.

:::holds arm tight across chest, sticks toung waaayyyy out, licks the outside :::

I just did it. Not just tried to, I did it. The inside of the elbow was dead easy. The outside was a bit tough, but I did it. (And to head off the inevitable objections, if you mean to say "the outside of your elbow" then say it.)

I thought that they said bless you because they believed that when you sneezed your soul was trying to escape.
