Did anyone watch that Japanese film the other night, Battle Royale?
Easily my favourite film. Who was your favourite character?

I didn't see it, but my friend said it was really cool :(

Yeah it is, but the book is more descriptive in terms of background etc...

I saw it, and thought it was pretty cool, made a nice change from the conventional hollywood style of film anyhow. My favourite character: The girl with the handbag, who when she died, explained herself by saying something like "I just didn't want to be a loser anymore" and I liked the whole "run" thing at the end.

My favourite character was probably Mitsuko. Her death was probably the most beautiful death scene I have ever watched

It should still be on DVD, on the Tartan Extreme Cinema label. Also th e Sci-Fi channel might sometimes show it.

saw it ages ago but did watch it again when it was on, its a superb film.

Yes. One of my housemates is a die-hard fan. Personally, I think it is rather silly. Funny the first time, but then it wears off.

I would like to know what the contestants shout out before charging towards the obstacle, though. :?

Battle Royale was awesome. My favourite character had to be Kawada, smart and died honorably. But you gotta admit that Chigusa girl was pretty wicked, stabbing the guy in the crotch and all.

That other girl was worse, the one with the sickle (cannot remember the name), complete psycho.
