So, Troy came out today in the US. Just wanted to see if anyone else had seen it, and what they thought of it. Personally, without giving away any spoilers (if you don't already know how it all ends), I thought they did a spectacular job. There was only one glaring deviation from the story that I noticed, along with a few very minor ones, but overall I thought they did an exemplary job keeping with the Iliad. And I was very impressed with Eric Bana as Hector. I thought he did a tremendous job.

Of course, if it was meant to be an adaption of the Illiad then the horse wouldn't be in it iirc.

Any way I heard they took the deities out of it. Is this true? If so is Achilles heel any different from the rest of his body?

As I said earlier "It is the most beautiful bastardization of a classic I have ever seen."

I loved the movie. It was phenominal. But it was so different from the Iliad and the Aeneid.

What I did was just imagine that it wasn't based on the Iliad and the Aeneid. That way, when I saw differences (Like XXXX dying at YYYY time, or JJJJJ doing QQQQQQ at LLLLLL instead of EEEEEE, etc) I wouldn't be bothered by them.

Alte Sprache des Lateins ah, muß er intelligent sein, der eine sehr harte Sprache ist zum zu verstehen, ive versuchte es vor aber erhielt nie den Fall von ihm.
