The government in my Canadian province (B.C.) is very conservative-minded. Local polls constantly show that they get far less support from women than from men. When our election rolls around next year we can expect the government to suddenly try woo women voters - likely in vain.

Is this an overall trend everywhere I wonder?

There is no region of canada that is conservative, esp. BC. Trust me, Ihave to live with their sewage and thank them for sharing. As for the women, if you are into exploitation and std's, go for it ladies.

You're right that the people of B.C. aren't really Conservative, but our government is sure trying to be. Draconian cuts to education & health, union-busting - all paid for with tax cuts for the rich.

Oh are you one of those poor Washingtonians who lives near Victoria and their raw sewage outfall? That's really a shameful thing and you have my sympathies. But isn't it just like a Conservative government to think treating sewage is a waste of money?

Women in the USA show a slight preference for Democrats over Republicans, but its nothing compared to say, race or age.

I like independents.

Since Gordon Campbell took over. The whole damn province is going to hell and a handbasket so Campbell can cut taxes for the rich and fund the damned Olympics.

how long has he been in power? they've got to have elections at least every 5 years so he might get out of power soon if he's been there for a while...

We win more often when the money race is close, because, quite honestly, we have the better ideas, and most people cans ee that. We just manage to get outspent 4 or 5 to 1 most of the time.

So I've heard.Maybe there's something to that. When I was married, I and my wife were both socially conservative but apolitical. In the 9 years I've been divorced, I've grown more liberal and my girlfriends have as well, and my current one and I have no plans to get married (although we did just adopt a cat together, so I guess that's a major boond of sorts).

If the woman is the independent type, and politically Liberal, she'll want a Liberal man who agrees with her whom she can control through the notion that masculinity is bad that leftists seem to impose when enough women get together in one place.

If she's less independent, calmer, probably a Conservative, since this type of person is usually looking for nothing more than to be treated nicely.

If she's a independent conservative type, again, probably a Liberal, a man she can control and beat constantly in political debate at home.

If she wants a guy who insists on always being on top, only thinks of *his own* pleasure, and makes love with the most economical efficiency - she'll go for the Conservative! :lol:

I think they're talking about Canada. But here in the states, Clinton (though I wouldn't call him a liberal) took the Reagan/Bush deficit and turned it into a surplus. Kerry will have to do the same with Bush II's deficit (knock on wood, haha wood).

Has anyone noticed that the "Pretty boys" tend to be Democrats? I'm talking about the guys with the looks-Tom Daschle's in great condition for his age, Al Gore Jr. was younger and had fewer gray hairs than Bush Jr.
Bill Clinton was noted in some poll or another as being a man lots of over-forty types had sexual fantasies about, and John Kerry's got the Rock-Hudson jaw and Hair combo going for him.
