In all seroiusness, I do not believe I'd ever let myself truly fall in love with someone I know only online, and know I never have a chance of having a future with. Not to be an ass, but I would strongly recommend not letting yourself feel that way until you meet the person. You guys might have chemistry online, but in person it might be a different story. There might not be actual chemisty. I firmy believe that if one will fall in love with another, they have to first actually meet and spend time with each other. Otherwise, how do you know that you will like the person in real life?

I don't really agree with that...I'd met my girlfriend a few years ago in person, but we didn't develop our 'chemistry' then. It wasn't till we started talking to each other online about two years ago (can't remember, luckily she'll never read this :P ) that we really felt a connection.

I never said that you would not have chemistry in person if you had it online. I am saying that you should meet the person first to see if you love the person for who they are in real life, not for who they are online. Now if you already met the person, then that is different.

My point is that we didn't have any chemistry when we knew each other in person...in fact I wanted her to help me get together with a different girl. Sure things are different in person, but we definitely knew how we felt even before we got to be together (We're long distance so it's often months in between seeing each other :()

I knew a guy in Sweden who fell in love over the internet with a girl in the USA. Now they are married and live in the USA. It is never impossible, just harder. If you lived across the galaxy it might be a little too hard, though. :)

When we did it I had school the next day and had to get up at 7am. I got to bed at 6am. I went to bed that late many times. We go to bed earlier now, but still talk every night on the phone, even if we just saw each other a few hours before. Oh, and between the times we see each other and talk on the phone, we are talking online.

Lol yeah we had many nights of chat-talk-chat-talk...mostly depended on how long my phone's batteries could last ;)

I have met a girl on the internet, she lives on the opposite side of the country, and we've surpirsingly become great friends, despite the fact that we've never met still. Actually, we're probably gonna meet sometime next year(s), but I promised her that Id take her out on a date when we do meet. (As mates, and I will coz I promised).

I would personally be a bit nervous to make a girlfriend over the internet, simply because a lot of things can happen which are internet related, such as losing your connection to it...

If it works out, then that's wonderful. However, if you set your expectations high and it doesn't work out, then it will be a big disappointment.
