Seattle- Confused, high, red-eyed stoners marched on the state of Washington today calling for a 'bill that would let us be, like, more free.'
Across the Pacific Northwestern state stoners gathered in small groups of 10 to 15 on the streets to promote a bill that would legalize marajuana. "Like, the government is, like, being the 'man' and he's trying to take away our [explative] away man. And that's not right," a unidentified stoner chanted in a puddle of ankle-deep mud in Olympia.
At 1:00 PM a group of 40 marchers had congergated on the 2600 block of Columbia Ave., Seattle blocking traffic. The police were called in and the stoners walked into a nearby grocery store and stared at the produce for nearly 45 minutes before the police were called in again to remove them.
"I've never seen anything like it," said police officer Brandon McCall told The Foxxinnian. "Stoners are normally unorganized and secluded into groups of 3 to 4. But for nearly 10,000 to organize in the same state on the same day is unheard of."
"I was all, 'maybe we should all get together someday'," the organizer of the event Elijah Gaarden explained, "And before I knew it, through word-to-ear, a bunch of people heard of it and called me to, uh [sic], figure it all out." Gaarden later added while standing on the pier, "Look a flock of seagulls! Play 'I Ran'!"
At 7:00 most of the stoners returned to their VW busses and old Toyotas and drove home.
One stoner recalled the memorable day. "I was with my buddies walking around and we were all, 'Look the White House!'," gesturing towards the Space Needle, "and one of the guys said, 'No that's the capitol building,' and I was all, like, 'We could go get the bill passed there!' But they were out of session or something."
Nearly 10,000 marchers were recorded across the state.
