HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! SO HILARIOUS:

Blair and Wen Jiabao (Premier of China) was at a joint Press Conference this morning. One of the Brit Press members posed a question to Blair (not exact wording): "Considering the stuff we're accomplishing in Iraq, do you think we still have the right to criticise China's human rights record?"

I don't remember Blair's reply, but it crumbled and he looked so bleak I couldn't help but...snigger.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Brave question to ask.

However to be fair im sure the Chinese Government actually sanctions abuse, whereas (though i dislike Blair, only fair to say) I doubt he is happy about the abuse/torture in Iraq.

Precisely. Although the human rights abuses in Iraq are horrific they do not come close to what China inflicts on it's own people.

If you can't take care of your colonies don't come bundling and meddling with others' business. At least we're improving, now that we have young, moderates in power.

But i still think it's quite sad Iraq has gotten to where it is now. Who is going to blame the Iraqis for attacking Americans under such circumstances?

Not the stereotypical Singaporean accent- I grew up speaking English only so that moderated my accent a bit. My accent is actually probably like a cross between an Indian accent and a Singaporean accent (I'm ethnically Indian not Chinese)

Well. Between an absolute theocracy and a communist dictatorship I don't really think Tibet matters that much. In the (very) long run, Chinese rule will probably be better for it.

First of all these abuse claims have yet to be proven. Second of all I hate the media they are fucking up the world we have today. If they were true jounalists and reported on stories with intergrity unlike most newspapers or T.V news programmes (example being the sun). Anyway this has turned into a rant so DONT FREE TIBET, AND DONT FREE IRAQ it is there own fault for being taken over for being to inept to safeguard their own destiny.

By that logic we shouldn't be in Iraq because it was their own fault that Saddam was nasty to them becuase they didn't stand up for themselves.

Which I quite agree with. Definetely a domestic issue and Britain should have minded their own business. Well done that man for providing yet another reason why Britain should never have illegally invaded Iraq.

I can see that you are a member of the Stop The War Coalition, well done.

Is there really any difference between an openly repressive governement and a secretly repressive one. if you live in britain you might struggle to decided whcih is which. Human rights abuses depend how you look at it, is it falling literacy rates (as is happening in britain today) or widening inequalities between rich and everybody else whic happen everywhere.

DO PEOPLE REALLY THINK IRAQ WAS ABOUT LIBERATION????? I HAVE HEARD ABOUT NAIEVITY BUT THATS RIDICULOUS. THEY WENT FOR OIL, AND AN ESTABLISHED MILITARY BASE IN THE MIDDLE EAST IN WHAT THEY THOUGHT WOULD BE AN EASY TARGET. AN IT'S GOOD THAT THEY ARE LEARNING A HARSH LESSON. IAM JUST UPSET THAT PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO DIE. PITY IT'S NOT THE LEADERS THAT SUFFER JUST THE MASSES.

Its always the young of a nation that suffers from the ambitions of the older politicians.

If politicians had to go out and risk their lives in their own wars the world would be at peace.

Look at Bush, didn't he squirm out of Vietnam by joining the National Guard?

Blair didn't support the Falklands War and used to be a member of CND. What happens when he gets to power? He sends soldiers off to die all over the place, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Iraq and wherever else his US Masters tell him too.

Don't you know how lucky you are to be living in a Western liberal democracy? There may be some thing you don't like about it but never forget- there are differences between "an openly repressive governement and a secretly repressive one". If you criticise Blair on the street, the cops aren't going to drag you away and make you vanish.

When anti-war protesters heckled him in the House of Commons they were removed from the building...
