I refuse to watch the show like pretty much everyone else who actually lives there. So would anyone care tell me how the show is portraying us? I've heard it makes us look like all we do is go to the beach, buy expensive clothes, go to raves, get in fights and have sex with hot chicks all day long.

I live there and I watch, I have sex with girls all day on the beach while wearing expensive clothes. I'd say it portrays us perfectly

I meant by California standards...Versace and Armani dont count as expensive clothes, Laguna beach isnt REALLY a beach, and just cause she has fake knockers doesnt mean she's beautiful. Hell, if I went by those standards I wouldnt have posted in the first place

i live in the desert of new mexico, and all WE do is have sex with girls on the beach, buy expensive clothes etc.
even the indians in the remotest amazon know that from watching reruns of baywatch.

No...just not all day long. Theres a reason why Viagra is so popular in C.A....

I reckon it's unfair that just because a program is about American teenagers everyone just decides that it'll be trash without any room for compromise. Okay so it does have some trashy elements but I think it's pretty good all in all, the only downside being that I'm now being forced to watch clips of Americans play "soccer", which, particularly with the central character (can't remember his name), is pretty painful.

I hate the O.C. It's all white, beautiful people.

Don't watch it. I tried once, but I turned it off because I couldn't really relate to those kind of people. As someone who was ostracized my entire life, I have a tough go of imagining a guy who must rank an 8 or 9 as "the geek", and coming out of a childhood like mine, the problems they face (Oh God, my wife and I are going to a swingers club! How stressful!) really aren't that compelling.

With all the crap I go through, I don't need to be shown beautiful people with beautiful lives.
