Yer local record store? Radio? Seriously dodgy Russian MP3 sites? Hire The Wall from your local video shop?

Cause, you know, if you weren't alive during the bands prominance your ears aren't actually capable recieving the band....

Dark Side of the Moon was on the top album list for decades, dammit. Not only do we live in a media age, we live in a media age that was defined by a generation that fetishized nostalgia. that old.....dammit......

You listen to Pink Floyd on quality headphones or a properly set up stereo in a dark room well and truly baked. You don't download a song, you listen to the whole album while looking at the album art.

They are the masters of the concept album, the songs on the album make up the whole. One at a time is like listening to only one movement of a symphony.

frighteningly well...Money kicks in when it goes to color, Dorothy watches the sound of the helicopter go from left to right, "Balanced on the biggest wave, racing toward an early grave" Dorothy is balancing on a fence nad then falls over. To quote Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, "So friggin' Awesome..."

I saw their last tour (I think '94, for those trying to paint the band as being from the Baroque period)...kick ass...I wish I had the same habits I have now then...the worlds largest quadriphonic sound system....oh man...

It's part of my rule:I saw Pink Floyd and Miles Davis for under $35 each. If you are not a)someone who has changed the face of music several times in your lifetime, or b)a show with an ass-load of lasers, I do NOT want to be paying more than $35 for your show...

Damn, now I feel old. I'm only 22 and even I have Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl. Still listen to it, too, since I'm too poor to buy the CD, but CDs can't recreate the listening experience of vinyl anyway. 8) The posters are about the only decent decorating I've got going on in my apartment, too.

On a related note, I took an exam this morning, and as I left to go home, I got in my car, keyed the ignition, and the first thing I heard out of the radio was "We don't need no education ..." That's always reassuring.

Another Brick In The Wall pt.ii, Sorry very picky about these things.

Anyway, apparently that song caused an uprising in South Africa when it was released. Does anyone know if it is true or not

First of all, get yourself to a music store and experience music, not marshmellow music selections and garden supplies.....

Dark Side of the Moon is the classic, my favorite is Wish You Were Here, Obscured by Clouds is a good damn album, Atom Heart Mother is nice. If you want classic (and what some consider true Floyd, with founder Sid Barrett before he went off his nut) Piper at the Gates of Dawn...The Wall probably has songs on it you didn't realize where Pink Floyd songs...
Avoid:A Collection of Dance Songs, and Relics, they are compilations which are contrary to the style of the band. Live albums aren't as cool either (unless you are there)

The band is so fantastic, that's really what I think,
and by the way, which one's Pink? Welcome to the Machine, Wish You Were Here.

Pink Floyd is the name of the band, not a person. The name comes from Sid Barrett's favorite blues musicians, Pink Anderson and I can't remember the last name of the Floyd.

No, It's from his favorite Jazz band, Floyd Council.

Also a name of my ex nation.

When watching The Wall, watch it, make up your mind about it, read the full analysis of it, watch it based on that, then watch it one more time and YOU decide.

Then do it again. But stoned.
