Dakini, I agree with you completely. There is little more annoying than spoiled little rich kids trying to pretend that they are from the "hood". I think that the goth kids are cute, but they may be because I was in the original goth movement back in the '80s.

let's look at it this way: i've met a number of goths, and the majority of them are quite nice and intelligent people. the bizarre clothing, piercings and make up seem to some function and they do so rather effieintly. for instance, if you want to talk to people who won't judge you based on how you look, make yourself look as though you are a scary person with major issues. should anyone talk to you after that, then they realise that you're not like that and everyone else can f*ck off and die. as well, it's a bit of a protection mechanism, i think. should you look scary, fewer people might want to get to know you, thus you do not have to worry about being hurt by as many people should they abandon you.

also, another possibility as to why the goths seemed to be overly excited at the medieval deal is that well, many goths assume that kind of role. they romantacise that era. perhaps they were like kids in a candy store.

then again, they could be the poseur goths who just dress like that to piss off their parents and anyone that will be pissed off by that. or you could just be an ass who has a thing against goths for no reason.

'67 Westfalia. The cooler was stolen by meth heads I was crashing with out of desperation, the chrome symbol on the front was stolen in a parking lot with the westfalia horn button (that wasn't attached anyway), the chair behind the drivers seat was ripped out by someone stealing my CD changer that I put in three weeks earlier, I scrapped the passenger side and broke the handle to the barn doors, and the steering and brakes are suggestive at best.

And I still wouldn't trade it for the world. I've had a muscle(ish) car, a sports(ish) car and a motorcycle-this is the coolest thing I've ever driven.

I know what you mean, mine has a sentience that is almost eerie. She likes drum music...If I drum on the steering wheel, I can get another 20-25 miles when the gas guage reads empty if not it dies right then.....

Well, I can imagine why you might be having a hard time filling that position. Not to try to take any candidates for your job away, but I highly recommend against anyone working a graveyard shift if at all preventable. It severly messes with your body's natural functions. Besides the obvious destruction of your social life, it messes with your perception of time (without sunrises and sunsets, you really get disoriented as to what day it is), and you tend to develop insomnia (it becomes increasingly difficult to sleep during the day, especially in the summer months when people are out alot during the day and creating alot of disturbance). If there's no other options, go for it, but if you can avoid it, I would suggest you do. I'm still searching for a more reasonable job, time-wise.

warehouses scare me for some reason. when i was in college i was a night watchman for a warehouse

my bf until recently worked nights at a warehouse on security. he got moved to days and hates it now. he's more of a night person than a day person, he doesn't sleep so well at night for some reason.
