It just crossed my mind how funny it is that Bush banks near everything he does on 'reducing the chance of another terrorist attack', when the chances for an average individual to get involved in a terrorist attack are smaller than the chance of being hit by lightning, and yet he gets away with it

Here's to stupidity!

fear is what abusers use to keep their victims in line. makes Bush's tactics look a bit less patriotic, don't it?

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship ... Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leader. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them you're being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.''
-- Herman Goering

The first time i read this quote i thought it was from someone from this time speaking about bush.

okay, maybe i shouldn't have used the "shock" emoticon, since i really can't say i am that surprised. it's a tactic that's as old as warfare itself, i just wish more people were aware of how transparant this administration's manipulations really are.

Lighting that strikes 3000+ individuals during the course of the year does not cause $2 trillion dollars (that's 2,000 billion or 2,000,000 million) in wealth evaporation, which leads to a decrease in economic activity, which leads to higher (than it would have been) unemployment, which leads to complaints that the president is personaly responsible for losing jobs.

But you keep on creating these brilliant messages on your computer in the comfort in your own home, oblivious apparently, to the realities of the world. Just keep thinking that that the "lightning" will never come after you and you'll stay in your blitfull slumber.

Of course what you have said here only applies to Al Qaeda.. no other action that the United States has taken.

You are confused :(

You are confussing the effect of terrorism with the effect of the farce that is known as 'the war on terror'. The later has, as anyone who isn't clinically braindeath can tell, nothing to do with an actual attempt to fight potential or already existing terrorism, and everything with creating circumstances that one can safely predict will lead to an actual increase in terrorism. Talk about a misnomer!

One day, at sometime in your life and probably after you mature some, you'll look back at how you are now and your emoticons will resemble more something like this:
