Here's an interesting article for May Day: http://news.excite.com/top/article/id/400263|top|04-28-2004::18:25|reuters.html

I don't know about the rest but removing information on STD's and contracteption is probably part of the US governments abstenance plan, which seems to work.

Find the word "abstinence" in the Constitution please? Or "STD"? Or "contraceptive"?

Those issues are reserved to the states and to the people. That's the tenth amendment.

People may be deprived of whatever the government wants them to be without due process.

Maybe the government just prefers kids to grow up ignorant.

Wouldn't want them to have silly little things like facts would we?

Seemed to work in the past. At least that way parents would have to teach their kids instead of shirking the responsibility. However in Britain, where they decide to teach them such things we have an immense teenage birthrate.

actually, every reputable study on the subject has found that abstinance-only education INCREASES teen pregnancy rates and STD infection rates, and teens who have received abstinance education are less than half as likely to use protection as their better-educated peers. abstinance educated teens have never been found to be less likely to have sex than teens who get comprehensive sex ed.

so basically the government is trying to get our children infected with disease and pregnant. how nice, makes me glad i pay my taxes.

this administration? hell no, never have. government in general? depends on who's running things. i am all about the libertarian paradise, and i would adore a libertarian government whupping ass in Washington. what we have right now is a bunch of Christian malarky masquerading as politics, and it's a waste of everyone's time.

Ok, Letila, what do you propose we do in place of government? How would you anarchists enforce laws/make them? No one can rule over another, so how would that work?

What's more frightening about this ommission is the information about women's pay equity and the studies about victims of domestic abuse and insurance. What's being hidden(well, we know what) and why(we can probably guess)?

If I where a woman, or loved/like/knew one or several(at least one of each), I would be concerned and/or offended at what's being done.

That's like asking what you'd replace a tumor with. Why outlaw stupid things that aren't your business like premarital sex?

But if you don't offer and campaign for an alternative, how can you critique and not be part of the problem?

If some guy across the nation killed his wife it wouldnt be my business. Should that be legal?

Now, what would you do to ensure order? Magic? I tend to think that no laws and no police = whole lot of crime
