I would like to know why nationstates is filtered at my school as far as i can see there is nothing offensive about it and It would be great if more people could get involved in it
PS If anyone knows how to get around the restrictions please tell me

That's probably a question for your school's Administrator. Likely they've got everything blocked except for school-approved sites.
When I was back at high school, my school used to block nearly any website with political content. Not sure if it was a filter, or they did it deliberately...it was a Catholic school :?

Also, the letters NS, for NationStates, are also used for National Socialism, or Nazism. Another reason why it might get auto-banned.
Lets see.. you are in school to do what?.. Learn maybe?

Pssssshhhh. Shows what you know.
Well, um...maybe you could learn the basics of country management?
Ugh. Well its better than P.E.
Sure this is realistic. One thing though, it does get you writing...
Heh, true. But I wouldn't hold high hopes for improving spelling judging by some of the stuff out there
Sure, but some one will often correct you or complain.

Not always.
And "someone" should have gone in quotes.

Point taken. However, never begin a sentence with "and".
EDIT: Ah, finally at 500 Posts. :D

There are always two spaces after the end of a sentence.

That depends on the writing program you are using, and whether or not it looks acceptable. Try typing a sentence in Notepad and leave two spaces after it.

My school internet block storefronts because they mention guns. that might be the reason for yours.
Also my school has lots of really good (and expensive) security software (and Im NOT talking Norton anti-virus), yet they HAVE NOTHING WORTH HACKING FOR! They dont understand no one wants to steal their lesson plans. Theyre just really paranoid.
Rant over.

The problem with Internet blocking software is sometimes it is a little over-zealous. In theory, blocking anything with the word "sex" will keep out sex sites?, but you are doing any research on the English county Middlesex, then back luck ...

A few years ago AOL's filters refused to accept 'Scunthorpe' as a valid response when users attempted to sign up: its filters deemed it obscene.
Edit: It appears that if I attempt to italicise the 2md through 5th letters of it on NS, we get the following:
Scunthorpe.
Thats a bit like the corporation Matsushita Technologies. They have trouble advertising for some reason.
lol, i'm not sure they do, but it would be funny.

because RM uses Internet protocal (ip) backlisting, your only hope is a proxy server or something like that.
sorry about that :(

Yeah I know what you mean. I tried to do art homework once and it blocked the entire google search because one or two of the site contained nude paintings.
