Yes. There were slight inaccuracies, but overall it ranks second only to RotK in my opinion. I liked the crow. http://www.sc3000.com/forums/images/face1.GIF

Aren't there already threads to discuss this in, though? http://www.sc3000.com/forums/images/face5.GIF

No it was terrible. It was meaningless violence and only showed Jesus dying...it didnt portray WHY he was dying.

It would have been more interesting to see the road to rome which was lined with Crucified slaves who tried to escape. Jesus was one of thousands who suffered that fate, but apparently only his count towards my sins...

From what I understand, it gives very little context at all, expecting that the audience will just "know" all the details (including the various intricacies of the political and religious situations of the time) going in.

I found the movie very moving and I thought it was a good representation of an event crucial to Christianity.

That said, conversations with a Jewish friend that went to see it with me have made me realize that this movie means very little, if anything, to someone who does not already know the story very well. For instance, he didn't realize that the person at the beginning was Satan tempting Christ. He also didn't understand many of the other details. He saw Christ basically as being arrogant and martyring himself for no reason when he could have easily gotten out of it by simply anwering the questions posed to him. This is true of course, but someone who does not understand Christianity would not know that Christ had to die or why, and they would not know of the teachings that made others love him.

As my friend put it, this is a great movie for an afirmation of faith by Christians, but it will not spread the Gospel or mean much to any non-Christians.

I found the movie very tiring to watch.

Its though watching an innocent man being persecuted and slowly murdered for two hours straight. I think it would have benefited the entire movie if the whole persecution and killing part would have been reduced to half an hour. The other 90 min could then have been devoted to a proper introduction of who Christ was and what he was doing that got him in trouble.

Turgid toss, that's what it was. Should have given it a Run Lola Run style-soundtrack..
