Dick and Bush don't want to tell the truth?

I don't get it.

Why the hell wont D. Cheney and G. Bush testify separately before the 9/11 commission?

Why must it be in private?

Why wasn't it recorded?

Why weren't they under oath?

What's the point of holding this hearing at all?

Fucking losers! I hope this hurts his re-election campaign. I know I am going to ask every republican I meet these very questions. Of course I don't expect any intelligent answers. Sorry, but it pisses me off when rich people are above the law.

The answer to all that is obvious, ain't it? Someone has got something to hide and we all know, well, only those who are courageous enough to face the truth, who that is, right?...

Simple logistics. Cheney drinking a glass of water while Bush speaks is one thing: being in a different room altogether is quite another.

Seriously, though, you obviously know the answers to your questions. It is only to be hoped that enough of the voting minority in America know too.

Yer absolutely right... I do know the answers to these questions.

I was hoping some Conservatives in here that like Bush would be willing to give their points of view on these questions.

I wanna see if they have some answers to defend their almighty Bush whom they claim to be the best PResident this country has had in a hundred years.

This administration has done nothing but cover shit up. Lie. Send people to their deaths over OIL, a grudge and the project for a new American century. Roll back important environmental protections. Deplete our surplus into historys largest deficit (evergrowing). Push their theocratic beliefs. Discriminate against gays, women, minorities. And basically do whatever it takes to make themand their buddies richer as societies downtrodden get more and more taken away from them.

Man you people sure do place GW on a high platform...head in the clouds and all with wings and maybe even a halo or two... (harp optional)

I am shocked to find that he is *gasp!! dare I say it??* not so much more honest and public than all the other world leaders (you can even toss in a few CEO's I suspect).

Perhaps y'all should run to the UN to seek out the mantra of truth and honesty (just hang a left at any political/social conversation)

I can see there are many Bush haters in here though. I on the other hand am in favor of Bush and will vote for him AGAIN! But to answer your question would be a waste of my breath and a waste of your time because you already have preconceived notions of who he is (even though you have never stepped into his shoes and walked his path)! I will be left without achievement because and cannot and will not convince you differently. I'm not even gonna try. My soul purpose of even writing this is so that you'll have someone to bash in your petty evergoing debate. Wait I take that back. This is NO debate for there is none to debate with you. You will drown in your own arguments and sit and agree with each other and where does it get you? Nowhere except where you started and that is -You don't like Bush and you want the whole world to know. So have fun. Maybe one day these ridiculous baffles will quit and we can discuss something worth mentioning here. Until then, this will always be a worthless forum!!!!!!!

Of course, as is the way with things, legitimate questions were posed.
Of course, as is the way with things, there were no forthcoming legitimate or intelligent answers from the right wing on this one, only rhetoric.
Integrity that was brought back to the white house is alive and well in the obviously nimble minds and fingers of the right wing. Worthy of praise.
Right wing "answers" all the way back up the line.

I'm new here....but Tripolo...you say this forum should be for 'things worth mentioning'. Perhaps you could enlighten us as to what these things are...I guess discussing opinions of what could possibly be the most self-selving, dishonest president in the history of our fine country (my opinion of course) is just too boring?

Yep, talking about Warren G. Harding does get pretty boring - he died in office after a rather short tenure, after all.

Another thing that gets boring is repeated massive hyperbole.

Tripolo,

I am very interested in what you have to say. But I doubt you actually have a good argument, because if you did you would have posted it in all its glory.

If this forum is so worthless, then why are you posting here? I think you are just feeling worthless because you have no intellectual input so you feel the need to bash the forum.

Not sure of what answers you're referring too..but this is hardly precedent...neither Clinton nor Gore had to testify under oath, they were interviewed, same with Reagan in his day...Some of the material is still considered classified, and not subject for display...mebbe it was just more convienent..ever think of that??...Get both of them done at the same time rather then expend more time separately?

Why the hell wont D. Cheney and G. Bush testify separately before the 9/11 commission?
Not sure. So there wouldn't be any confusion between the two's testimonies? As I understand it from the news reports, Bush did most of the talking anyway.

Why must it be in private?
Because, they're the two most important people in the USA, more likely the world. They know much more about this than most other people, including things classified that cannot and should not be allowed into the public.

Why wasn't it recorded?
Not sure. Probably so it can't be used as campaign material.

Why weren't they under oath?
Because it was in private.

What's the point of holding this hearing at all?
So the panel can investigate why 9/11 happened.

Also note that Al Gore and Bill Clinton testified in private, not under oath (although the oath dosen't mean much to Clinton, since apparently perjury laws don't apply to him), and also the big problem presented by this commission.

If its in public, everyone's seeing it any people jump on absolutely everything for campaign material. It gets distorted and played endlessly throughout the media. In private, they might be more willing to tell the facts more accurately (they'd probably still tell the truth in public, however they might act like lawyers when it comes to "truth"). If there's no hurt to Bush until the whole commission has written its final report, then there's a much larger chance that he, like any politician, will tell the full truth. After all - thats what this panel is about, right? Finding out the truth about why 9/11 happened - not as an opportunity to bash Bush.

Why the hell wont D. Cheney and G. Bush testify separately before the 9/11 commission?

What differance is it if they are together or apart?

Why must it be in private?

Who knows what actual security information might be contained in the testomony? For all we know it details all that we did to hunt terrorists, loopholes, etc/

Why wasn't it recorded?

Who knows. Terrorists might steal it? (unlikely)

Why weren't they under oath?

Not a clue.

What's the point of holding this hearing at all?

To end finger pointing.

THANK YOU!

So yer telling me that Bush and Cheney had more classified knowledge than the director of the CIA? nice! lol I doubt it. Bush barely knows his ass from his mouth it seem with the crap he spews out of his ever-smirking eating hole.

The commission wanted them to testify separetly so this "both together to save time" argument is total crap.

Clinton and Gore? They had no decision making power at the time of 9/11. but for the record I think they also should have been under oath. And it has been well documented and corroborated that Clinton let the Bush administration know that Al Q. and the B. Laden group were a major threat and Bush ignored these threats up until the last minute.

Confusion between the two testimonies? another giggler for me. How in teh hell could they confuse the testimonies? Druggies werent asking the questions. Unless you mean they are reading from a script so what they say would be exactly the same and therefore hard to tell apart.

Shouldnt Bush or Cheney know how to keep themselves from giving away classified information while in the public eye?

If the recording was made and kept private, how would it be used for campaign material?
Even if it was used as campaign material. The public should know the truth and if the truth hurts their campaign then that is a good thing.

They cant be under oath in a private setting? B.S.!!!!!!!

here are some bi-partisian comments about their meeting.

"It was an extraordinarily good meeting. The president was forthright," said former New Jersey Gov. Thomas Kean, the commission's Republican chairman.

"We said we hoped we could test some things out as to whether some of recommendations we were considering were indeed practical," he said. "The president said he was open to some ideas, and nothing was ruled out."

"It was a very good meeting," Democratic commissioner Bob Kerrey said. "I do think it'll help — in particular the president's description of what happened during 2001 and most particularly on 9/11."

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/04/21/terror/main612959.shtml

Democratic commissioner Bob Kerrey described some of the answers as "surprising" and "new" but declined to give details. "I think the less I say that could be construed as critical, the better chance we have of reaching consensus when we write our final report."

Kerrey, along with Lee Hamilton, the commission's vice chairman, left the Oval Office meeting early because of what they said were prior commitments.
