Fashion anachronisms.

Okay... let's start with the suit and tie. Why exactly are we wearing these? Especially the tie. I see absolutely no functionality in this strip of cloth. Why do we wear them? Do we believe they look good? Compared to what? Personally, I see someone dressed in a suit and tie(especially in warm weather) as a bleating sheep lost in the herd. He wears them because he believes he's supposed to wear them to look good. He thinks they look good because he's supposed to wear them.

Do suits and ties impress you? Do you judge people differently because they wear a strip of cloth around their neck and dress for brisk weather on balmy days?

When are we going to evolve beyond the suit and tie?

Next... pants.

Why do people always look at me funny when I'm outside without pants? It's warm and the breeze on my legs feels good. My underwear is clean and white. My genitals aren't exposed. My legs aren't hideously hairy or particularly jello-like. So why do people always stare and point when I'm out and about in my skivvies? I admit, I miss the pockets. My car keys dig into my privates something awful. It's no reason to stare, though. :(

It's political fashion. Back in the 18th century, white wigs were fashion among politicians (or at least our American ones anyway)

then around the 1820's or so...the fashion became less fancy and much more like today's clothing I believe. Except I think they wore bows.

Suits and ties are a thing of the 20th-early 21st century. I expect soon that by the end of the century, military uniforms will be worn by politicians as a sign of honor or something

Anyways. It's basically fashion. Just like civilian fashion
