Hey can we bring the Jordanian intel services over here to the US? They're sure doing one heck of a better job than our FBI and CIA

Why do I have the feeling that you're the same type who complains that the Patriot Act is a terrible attack on civil liberties? You really can't have it both ways. Even if that doesn't refer to you, it certainly does to a good many people.

That aside, everyone knows that reworking the entirety of the nation's intelligence services should take less than three years. There should be no obstacles. No hiring difficulties. No lag for training. No time to research or draft new policies. There should especially not be any increase in funding.

I do disagree with the constant argument that things don't work well because they lack funding.

We constantly hear that our crappy public education would be improved with extra funding. Now, this is a valuable institution, but if it is broken the first thing to do is fix it before pouring more money into it.

Same goes for intelligence services.

Hmm . . . televised confessions . . . Saudi Arabia springs to mind. How do we know this is not yet another manufactured "success"?
