For me personally, it's been two things. Firstly getting involved with a war between Dark Terror and Belemn back when my nation was tiny. Secondly, mixing up names of nations and going to war accidently with a nation completely unrelated, an ally or twice my size.

This is in a different RP more centrally structured and organized, I was building my nation peacefully for a while and allied this guy. We took over all of Europe (He was the Golden Horde, I was supporting him with my Turks), and we were only barely stopped by a coalition of basically every Christian state in Europe - we had almost reached Paris.

So now he was great, and I basically followed his orders, being as I was pretty new to it at the time. I, however, got a reputation as some sort of a great guy with that stuff, and people targeted me for about two months afterwords until they realized I was just really a puppet for the Golden Horde. :wink:
