It seems like most politicians who get into office are a coupla spoiled rich ppl who did little to no real service for their country, or got where they were because of their familiy's fortune.
Besides a good campaign and good campaign promises, I propose that candidates for the offices of US President, Senator and Congressman have to have a *very* good record of civil service (i.e. spotless military record, head of a volunteer organization) or are self-made men (like Sen. Edwards, who was born *very* poor, but built his own law firm from the ground up and became a major success).
What do you think of this idea?
