Let's talk about "The Board"
For those of you who don't know about the infamous organisation The Board for Secondary Schooling, or "The Board" it is a kind of reveiw baord of marking. They take ten students from every class of every subject (2XA, 2XB, 2XC, 2XD & 2XE) and examines the marking, if they find that the student was marked to harshly then that students mark will be increase, it is also assumed the other students were and their mark goes up the same amount. But, if a student is found to be marked to heavily they can have their mark moved down and ditto to the other students.
I suspect "The Board" meets here...

Have heard of "The board".
This is the stupidest idea educators have came up with in years.
How about we keep the good parts and loose the rest.
Do the sample testings and make sure that throughout the school year all the students are tested. Then if a student's score is extreme to either extent, the teacher has to answer as to why. Don't let them off with the lame excuses that are accepted in today's schools. If a teacher wants to claim that a child, who has recieved unusually high scores, is just gifted, then give an overall test to the student to see how they score. If all results are not up to the "gifted" status, get rid of the teacher. If a child has scores that are unusually low, the teacher has to show why. Test this child as well, see if they have a learning disability of some type, or are just a student who needs particular help in certain areas, or they have the capacity and ability to learn in that class. If the student passes, with the ability to learn, place the teacher on a probation, or just fire them for failing to teach a teachable student. Let's make teachers responsible for teaching and teaching all fairly.

I like those standardized tests.
I used to get mediocre grades until I came out very high in the standardized scores.
Suddenly the embarassed teachers began giving me A's.
Save us from dumb teachers.

Grades are, to a greater extent, more a sign of effort, not of intelligence.
Grades are, to a greater extent, more a sign of effort, not of intelligence. Not counting the entire Grade Eight Typing Class, my Legal Studies Teacher made me mark their work. Out of spite I guessed based on their names.
