The amount of people that don't list Black Sabbath or Led Zepplin is just shocking, given that those two bands are the founding bands of the hard rock genre, and almost all rock today draws inspiration from them.

you guys got most of the good ones, i cant remember the names of the songs but the rotten apples album from smashing pumpkins is good....hmmm, oh yeah THE WHITE STRIPES!!! most people dont care for them but jack and emily kick ass with a peppermint candy cane, De Stijl, white blood cells, elephant, some awesome songs on there....lets see, swaying slightly from rock, bob dylan and bob marley are both kick ass dudes...eh, last but not least, guys like son house, buddy guy, bb king, taj mahal, charley patton, howlin wolf, muddy waters, etc. without them, rock would not be existent

Those guys really need to learn how to play their instruments. I don't think I heard more than 3 chords in any of those songs.
