Not true. By stopping a power-hungry Saddam in '91, we kept the war from spreading to other regions. Another example, NATO bombing Belgrade in order to presuade the Serbs to be more forgiving towards Kosovo.

Heck, I'm a liberal...slightly more moderate than most, but still. The war in Iraq, in my mind, is to a certain extent legitamate. The WMD thing is a bit confusing, although I do believ ethat Bush had a firm conviction that Iraq had them.

The regime of Saddam Hussein should have been removed; but doing so without UN approval was a tad...foolish of us. The Iraq War was succesful though, and I'm fairly angry that we're going on about pulling out of Iraq because there are casualties. It's a friggin war! People die in war! Even after, it's not as if we have complete military control there, militants are rebelling and fighting back constantly. But it's a friggin war, you can expect losses in a war.

As for anarchists being conservative, he does have a point. Conservatives favour smaller federal governments than liberals.

don't you think though, that the insurgence would let up if an international force supported by the UN went into Iraq.
The Iraqis I'd assume feel occupied under the americans and fear colonization (the insurgence anyways)
wouldn't it be smart of bush to swallow his pride and ask the UN for help and admit that the situation is bad and that the war he carelessly started is not over?

Umm, do you have any idea why Saddam invaded Kuwait? By your statement, It doesn't sound like it. Saddam invaded Kuwait (the former 19th province of Iraq) because they were flooding the market with oil and Iraq was on the verge of becoming bankrupt. Saddam went to OPEC for help, they ignored him, Saddam wasn't liked because he was not Islamic enough for other Arab countries. Saddam was too secular for their liking.. He had no intentions of moving into any other regions. I wish people would look up their history before making incorrect statements.

Because I've been on NS a long time too, but I'm right-wing. Is a "respected player" someone whose political values match your own?

I can't possibly follow people around as they post. I call it when I see it. This is a big site. When I catch it, I call the person on it. Do I see every thing , no, of course not, how could I. Anbar has been posting on this site as long as I can recall, I have never seen him have a problem with any one. Nor have I ever seen him cause trouble, has nothing to do with political view. Read back to what you said.. maybe that's why I warned you.
