I just wish I could find the actual site of the company that sends out those unwanted emails to me....I'd introduce them to the concept of privacy and my baseball bat.

Salishe, there is a simple way of doing it. 90% of spam originates from just 150 or so people. And more than half of them live in the US, dozens in Florida, their favourite location.

The US electronic reconnaisance people are not n00bs. They have got to know who these people are. They are just a bit easier to spot than your average terrorist plotter, because they are broadcasting their location to the world. Hell, even investigative journalists have managed to track down and harass a few.

So, how much in the way of resources would be needed to pistol-whip the lot and dump them in prison? You want to do it vigilante-style, with a baseball bat? Why not take a lead and do it legally? Th world is asking America that question.

But that would be bad for business.

We even had those "do not call" telemarketing blocks pruned back by our government.

They do it like that to circumvent traditional filters.

Because the sound of the bat sounds oh so much sweeter then handing a spam company a blue restraining order.

Fair enough. Why can't America take a lead and summarily execute them, or perhaps administer an extra-judicial punishment beating, if doing it legally is so dull?

It's due to this whole First Amendment thing...difficult to get around it.
