It is not a grudge. It is more of a professional Mod interest in someone who has trolled and flamed their way into deletion. I myself would tend to keep a closer eye on repeat offenders.

I might have insulted Steph personally once or twice, said something I shouldn't have in the heat of rage another time, and trolled once or twice... it's enough to get a nation deleted :)

As to why my more recent thread was just locked, I have no idea... my "native Americans" thread was being consistently hijacked, and I was just trying to move the discussion elsewhere, but I guess steph just feels my thread should be just another theists vs. atheists thread

The first is, every now and then, some player simply annoys the hell out of the General Forum community, and however that happens, that's their problem.

The second is, the actions of said player and his/her detractors are always considered by the Moderators impartially. Hopefully, you and your opponents can keep your disagreements civil, and the need for that will not arise.

I am not sure if this helps explain things at all, but that's what I can offer by way of opinion.

Sorry, I'm getting into this late in the thread. I was sleeping and then caring for my child.. Even mods have a life, I know scary, but true.

To hopefully set the record straight..

Whew, ok with that said. My issue with Ray's posts is the way in which he posts his message. He never fails to throw in a "they're crazy" or a "they're nuts" as if to say only his views are sane and or valid. Which of course he has every right to believe. This doesn't make what he says fact by no means. We all know that. However, he does have every right to post them. What I feel he doesn't have a right to do is post these threads that bait people and Ray is a smart enough person, I have little doubt that he knows exactly what he's doing. It's subtle some times, but most certainly there.

I like to think of myself as an objective person over all. Of course like any one else I have my own personal views and opinions. However, I do agree to disagree. I believe to take part in any meaningful debate you have to. That being said.. I have opened Ray's threads at times and start reading them, no I don't agree with him, but that's fine.. then I will get to a line that says "If you don't believe xyz" then you're crazy, nuts, have no values.. and it takes every thing even I have as a moderator not to give him a blast of sh*t.

Perhaps if Ray could learn or even try to convey his message without the baiting and insulting of every one who has yet to disagree with him, because lets face it, he insults you before you ever even respond. Then Ray would have no problems here on Nationstates. There are a lot of people I disagree with who have never even had so much as a warning from me. Then there are people I agree with a lot and then they've done some thing and I've deleted them. Just ask B.S. I agree with almost every thing the guy says, but when he broke the rules I deleted him. So, to say I'm "picking" on Ray is simply silly.

I have nothing against any one. I'm just doing my job.

I'm wondering what happened to the 1 pointless cut+paste rant a day rule they had imposed on him. He probably should have been pinged for spam ages ago, although the server seemingly helps stop him.

But you are doing much betterLike those replies we all post, you know the ones you realise are insulting the moment you post them, then try to delete but can't because the server chooses that exact moment to go down.

Raysia didnt deserve to get deleted nearly as much as the Red Arrow deserves to get deleted. That is just my opinion though.

The reason Red Arrow doesn't deserve to get deleted is that he never has any opinions of his own, so he can never get nailed for anything remotely violating TOS, except the spamming thing, which they tightened up on him. Raysia, on the other hand, expresses opinions, and alot of the time make inflammatory remarks, which can get you in trouble. I guess that's an endorsement for not thinking for yourself, since it'll never get you in any trouble.

In my opinion, Raysia has his own agenda, whatever that may be, and because of that he doesn't always stop to consider other people. What I mean by that is simply that Raysia does not consider other people thoughts, feelings, opinion, or anything else when he makes post, whether it be his threads, or his comments. In my opinion Raysia feels that he is right and because of that, I think he often times puts himself on a crusade to let the world or atleast the word of NS know that. I will say that I don't think it is ALWAYS his intent to hurt people, but there again, he doesn't stop to consider the likely consequences of his actions...

like I said that is basically just my opinion. I'm not saying your a bad guy, I just think you don't really stop to consider others all the time. Take it as constructive criticism, we all have areas that we need to work at. I have them, just as well as the next person. We become better people when we recognize them and do our best to fix them.

While I don't like it, I'm not one to make a fuss over it. It's your opinion, of course, and everyone is entitled to their own. However, I think you should take other's opinions into regard as well, regardless if you like them or not. And make sure you catch yourself before making any implications that your opinions are the only correct ones.
