Heres the thing.....

On Darth Vaders chestplate..there appears to be some writing in hebrew...some people say that it says something like.."his sould will beb redeemed after he merits" or something like that.....

If anyone here can actually READ Hebrew...and let me know..that would be cool.

Mr. McSquishy,

This was done somewhere, I remember having a friend tell me about it.

I think it says something like "He will be taken by the darkness".

Do a google search and you should find the answer.

Jeeves doesn't know crap, he couldn't even tell me why my PC clock says it's 12:52 AM when it's really 2:54 AM and I set the PC clock a freakin' hour ago.

Tried checking the BIOS, it's screwy there too. Changed the CMOS battery, checked for Windows update, looked for a BIOS update for my chipset, nothing that fixes this particular problem.

You didnt download one of those "your clock could be in error" things did you?

Run Spybot, or ad-aware then try resetting the bios....if taht doesnt work, it could be that your BIOS chip is starting to go....

No I did't download anything. I ran spybot yesterday, tried running anti-virus as well (AVG). And by reseting the BIOS do you mean by using the clear CMOS jumper, or just reseting the time? If my BIOS is on the way out it's no huge deal, I plan on getting a new mobo as soon as the @#%^@%$ guvment gives me my tax refund (Asus A7N8X Deluxe).

I mean by manually resetting the time in your BIOS.

So you ran all the checks eh?

Virus, spyware.....all that?

and after evrything you told me youve done.....the only conclusion that I can come up with is that the chip itself is on it way out..

Your next machine....you may want to consider a dual bios......nice..(but probably not really needed)

Oh yeah..thats right..yopu may also want to wait for a few months before you buy your next board...

The new architecture "pcix" is coming out soon..even faster than an agp slot. ..(ooohhs and aahhhhs)

If you a gamer..thats a good thing.

Although it will require you to buy a new graphics card.

Would SANDRA be able to pick-up a bad BIOS chip?

SiSoft Sandra, it's got some benchmarking modules, and info modules. I'm just not too familiar with the program as a whole

Oh...ok.

It might.

Theres some decent benchmarking tools out there.....usually will tell you what they are specifically geared to test...

Try looking for one...

If your chip IS going..you'll likely have more problems than just a wrong time on your clock.

all kinds of stuff will likely to go wrong...so if nothing out of the ordinary happens......iits all good.

Well my PSU acts VERY strangely. If I don't turn of the switch on the PSU, wait a while (I assume for the capacitors to discharge through the ground), turn the PSU back on, I can't even get the thing to POST. But other than the clock thing I haven't notices anything performance-wise.

woah.

Wont even post huh?

Any post error messages?

I would say that yes......it is the chip starting to go....but maybe Im wrong..

how old is the power supply....and how many watts is it?
Kanteletar

I don't get any beep sequence if that's what you mean. The PSU isn't that old six months maybe, but I had the problem right out of the box. I figured it was a compatability issue with the mobo. I've been too lazy to try it in my dad's comp though (probably a useless test since his comp has a slightly newer version of mine).

Oh yeah, 300W. I the proc is a 1700XP, I have a Radeon 9600 Pro card, LG 52x24x52 CD-RW, a 40GB and an 80GB HDD, and 512 MB of RAM. Not exactly a wattage hungry power-house. Also I didn't have the 80 GB HDD and I had an nVidia 420MX when I bought the power supply.
