New Report Reveals $6 Trillion in Hidden Spending in Bush Budget
Posted Apr 6, 2004 10:45 AM PST
Widening the White House's growing credibility gap, a new report
released today by John Kerry for President reveals that President
Bush has proposed or passed $6 trillion in new, unpaid initiatives
during the first three years of his administration. The report shows
that while the President and administration officials have publicly
touted their commitment to fiscal discipline, they were quietly
pushing trillions of dollars in unpaid proposals that have resulted
in skyrocketing deficits and contributed to state budget deficits
across the country.

Our government hasn't even spent 6 trillion dollars int he past 3 years, and yet Bush has slipped an *extra* 6 trillion in there somehow. Makes sense.

Actually, and not to be a spoil sport, but our *official* budget is around 2.3 trillion dollars a year as a nation and that DOESN'T include the war in Iraq. I believe much of what he is alluding to has to do with future spending which is hidden or was not fully explained concerning the medicaid bill. The Medicaid bill ALONE has hundreds of billions of dollars that were never reported to the public part of expenditures as it moves onward into the future.

While I might dispute the $6 Trillion amount - there are certainly trillions of dollars of spending that you're not hearing about from the traditional news sources or have been glossed over or simply hidden away in stories somwhere where they would go unnoticed.

There is only ONE party in this country who's platform maintains that our government MUST be brought under control by actually SHRINKING it and getting rid of everything and anything that the constitution doesn't enumerate to it - that is the LIBERTARIAN party. Check it out at http://www.lp.org
You can check out the candidate from that party most likely to get the nomination - Gary Nolan at http://www.garynolan.com (I believe).
