Oddly enough, so's my dad. I'd hesitate even to call him old, actually: he still goes fishing and comes home lugging a couple of big sea-bass each trip; he's building a plane together with my bro-in-law. He gave up building guitars a few years back when his eyesight got poor enough that he needed to wear glasses for the fine work of making the purfling and inlays by hand. And they still call him into college to teach classes if staff are away sick. I'd love to be as young as he is when I'm as old as him, if you see what I mean.

Not in my case, that's certain. I honestly don't give a word that this board insists on censoring about what the calendar says. My teens were complete and absolute shit; my twenties, I suppose they were better (they couldn't really have been much worse), but I wouldn't like to be back there again. Good stuff really started happening for me in my thirties - or maybe I'd just grown enough smarts to start appreciating them. I'm really enjoying my forties, so far.
As to other people's age - *shrug* If you're mature enough that we can have an interesting conversation, that's just fine. If you're not, too bad. Calendrical age just doesn't seem to enter into it much.
