What would you say is the major part of Nationstates?

What makes Nationstates what it is?

Someone earlier in the forum said that: -

Sorry. I mean the transition between newbie, and player.
If you post twice, you don't really play nationstates, do you, given that the game realy exists in the forum.

Do you agree with that, given that role playing is in the forum it is a major part, well lets see.

All the funny people with their funny views on the funny general forum. In fact, that's the only reason to be here for me. 8)

Well everyone knows the In game Rp's and political discussion take place seperately. There are some on the fence, but on the whole, We hate each other.

im a newbie and as of yet dont fully understand the role play aspect of the forum. at the minute i seem perfectly content with developing my nation thru deciding upon issues and generally putting my views across here.

with out ridiculing me completly, or too harshly, could some onew explain what the RP is all about.

I get confused by RP so I don't bother with it.
As for issues I have to confess I'm set to vacation mode at the mo, I just can't be bothered with it
I guess I'm a generalite, I only use NS for the debates, discussions and random word play games that go on in the forum

I have no idea. I have different nations for different things. I have a nation that participates solely in regional invasions and defences, I have a nation that almost exclusively RPs, I have a nation that participates in the General forum (this one), and I have a nation that does none of these things, and just answers issues twice a day. I'd say the game exists in all of those at once. You aren't really experiencing the full bredth of the game unless you participate in all three things at least a little bit.

RP is to give the game greater depth. But it requires lots of [free] time and patience and imagination.

I don't really bother with it, it doesn't exactly float my boat

I have to agree with the genius that provided the initial quote. (Who could it be?) This is clearly somebody who knows what they are talking about. Listen carefully. You might learn something.

I think there is a misinterpretation of the quote, if you just go on NS once a day, week, whatever just to decide the issues, then you don't really get the most out of it. Naturally going on the forum includes all of the forums, not just the RP forums. Even if you don't RP, going on the general forums will give you a much richer experience.
