I was just curious as to what you do in your life that you believe you took from your parents. Such as, if you smoke, did your parents smoke? If you drink did your parents drink? If you have trouble with money, were your parents often in debt? Those type things. I thought it would be nice to have a discussion that didn't include bashing any one..lol Although, that could be another good one, do you share your parents political beliefs? Religious beliefs?
As a parent myself, I so believe we teach by example. I just wanted to know if you find this to be true as well.
Wow.. I didn't even say "Bush" once..lol Ok there I did, I had to throw it in...

My dad drinks. I'm not going to.
My dad smokes. I'm not going to.
My parents are okay with money. I'm not, so that's obviously not something I get from them. =P
Political beliefs? The only thing my MOM cares about is why American soldiers keep getting killed, and only then do I bring in politics.
Religious beliefs? More like a lack thereof. Although my family claims to be Catholic, it's closer to agnosticism if you ask me, and it may be responsible for my agnosticism.
*inhale*
I have definite similarities to my parents but I don't think I've taken on loads from them
"My parents abused me and they suck!"??

Hehe, well I needed a 5th option. Hey, lots of kids are abused, it seemed like a fair option.
Yes, i saw where you were going with it. Most delicate.. *Coff*
We're a strangely unemotional family. I love them in my own way, but i wouldn't be too bothered if i didn't see them again. We hardly saw each other when i lived in London, and i was the one who had to travel to see them all the time. They visited me once in 3 years. Mind you, if mum had her way she probably would have been up to London every week, but there you go.

lol (Actually laughing there seems mean)
I would say I take after my parents to a degree. Most people will probably take after their parents more later in life, when they see the similarities. I think though a lot of people tend to follow the same life path as their parents, same mistakes etc. But I do not really take after my parents, they are mostly sane.

The more decades you're alive, the more you start to think and sound like your parents. Sometimes that really sucks because we like to think we can freely build our own personalities and not be so controlled by genetics and upbringing. Turns out that's not entirely possible no matter how much we want it to be :(
ok...
My parents only drink sometime--i drink all the time
My parents are rich--i'm really poor
My parents are stuck in the old days--i'm stuck in the new days
My parents will vote for Bush--i will vote for Bush
(shut up)
My parents don't poke smot--i poke smot
I believe that it all depends on how you wanna live your life and weather you are worried about what your parents think of you.
I personally dont car what they think of me so i live my life how i wanna

My dad was a military officer; I'm a pacifist.
He excelled at competitive sports. I like solo sport like kayak, hiling etc.
I share his passion for fair play, social responsibility and faithfulness.
My mom is creative and I try to be too. She's also crazier than I ever hope to be. She rode on an operating oil rig pump
She roller skated downhill across traffic
She lets kids play with knives
Her idea of a ladder is an old chair piled with 3 cookbooks and a breadbox
...she's had so many wrecks she can barely get car insurance, she drives liuke a maniac...
she's much cooler than I could ever be! :P
