Bush, Blair and other observations

Has anybody else that when Bush is attacked on this forum there are people who wil defend him and his policies. But Blair is fair game. I don't think I have heard anyone defend him, and attacking him is one of the few subjects that won't result in lib/con partisan mud throwing.

On that note. On many subjects, the board splits on the same lines. Everyone shouts loud, explains a lot but no one changes their opinion (possibly so we can have the same arguement the next day). And that these arguement split on the lib/con cleavage (both general terms I know).

But I was think, what topics are there that won't result in cons slugging it out with the libs?

Smoking?
Books? (except The Book of course)
Films? (except the Passion)

does anyone know any more?

-interesting things to do on sunday

-talks you had with your pet which totally changed your outlook on life

-how you felt when you were 8 years old and found out your mom&dad have sex

-why applepie is far superior than apples could ever be

-the gratitude you felt for your grandpa when you heard he had willed his porn collection to you and not your dad, and how dad got jealous as a consequence, and how his moody behaviour from then on ruined your life, leading you to take up the habbit of snorting cocaine in quantities that would make Bush seem like an amateur, just as Bush seems to be an amateur in near every area of life, and how this let you to the glorious day where you were the guest of oprah winfrey where you could tell the world how porn ruined your life and that of your family, after which you could all get over it by a big group hug

-how to be a good christian and still masturbate and be proud of it

-why having a small dick is really a good thing and no reason to feel insecure

-what to do when you just shitted and it turns out that your shit is so big that it won't go down the toilet, not unless you break it down in smaller chunks with a wire coathanger, and there is someone waiting outside to use the bathroom

*wonders why no one else has come up with topics that aren't a written invitation to the cons&libs to start another mud throwing contest* :?

In fairness a lot of the condemnations of Blair come from people outside of Britain and so aside from the fact that he supported the Iraq war, is alleged to have lied/mislead the public and has been created into a characature of Bushs poodle they won't know a lot apart from that. There aren't that many Brits on this forum either (comparatively speaking) and finally politics in Britain tends to be fought along the lines of issues rather than political parties or individuals.

Ironically I think that despite the trend you observed Blair will win the next general election whereas G.B will not.

Yeah I know, but many criticisms on bush come from outside the US, but US citizens will stand up for him. I have yet to see a post (or meet someone in the real world) who will defend Blair. There seems be a 'universal' (in mean within Britain) dislike against him.

It is quite odd in Britain because whilst publically a lot of people express dislike against Blair he's still got a comfortable lead in the polls, which in spite of Top up Fees, Hutton and Iraq is still pretty undented. I think there are a lot of people out there who, (quietly at least) still support him. Personally whilst I disagree with him on a number of issues I think that character-wise he makes an excellent PM (domestically at least) and I have no problems with him on that regard.

In spite of some failings I think Labour (and Blair) are the best choice of the 3 parties and if an election was held tomorrow then that's where my vote would go.

If there was a general election tomorrow, I would like to vote Labour (as I agree they are the best of a bad bunch). But I dislike my MP, this is not blind, I have met the man and have a personal dislike towards him. So I would probably vote Lib Dem (I would rather shoot myself, not fatally, than vote Conservative)
