Finally, someone who understands why I try to set fire to Macs whenever I see them.

They just make my blood boil, with their ultra tacky colour schemes to their overly user friendly interface.

I mean, what's the fun of torturing people via tech support if people can actually figure out how to do stuff [properly] themselves?

I don't have a Mac, though I should like one. I don't care about games, so that argument doesn't affect me in the least, also, my first computer was a Mac, and I had no problem with the one-click mouse. (Also, it was an LC580 running System 7.1.) I don't care that Macs cost more in the short-term. I don't care that so many people hate them. I don't care that hardly anyone uses them. I've made up my mind, for myself, and I won't let anyone make me want a PC. Though Linux isn't that bad... eh, I'd rather have a Mac.

oooh the results are 14 yes, 14 no!

I use an iMac G3 or G4 with OS X.

problems:
lack of games:
yeah, but they're getting better. I have 6 games bought from shops that are for Mac (mind you, i think two of them were from the Apple shop in NY :D ). And all of my other I downloaded from the internet (even a flight sim)

I find macs are used by creative people. I mean, obviously, if you work in accounts or something, you'll want a PC. They also look soooo much better. How can you say they look tacky ?? you gotta admit the iPod is pretty neat - everything about it has been exquistly designed, even the bits of polystyrene in the box it came in. It's a kick in the mouth for Bill Gates! and that paperclip of word (macs have a computer wuth legs)

Y'know, it all comes down to jealousy. All those PC people out there would love to use a Mac really, deep down inside!

I noted that. It's an available option, but I like my second mouse button.

Anyway, Mac's do have a more stable OS, I will admit, but I geuinely prefer the PC OS in terms of comfort and useage. There are glitches, but the windows are getting better (with the exception of ME, which should DIE). XP is very very stable, but unfortunetly huge and slow. But my personal favorite point of all is...

PC's are completely customizable. PERSONAL computers. You can build your own from the motherboard up. Once your gear gets outdated, you can buy replacement PARTS (not upgrade package or anything) and slap it in yourself (you don't have to take it to anyone to do it). It's also easy to put together in your own home on any kitchen table.

As for asthetics, you should see some of the Case Modding that my friends have done. I'd say it looks sweeter than any IMac I've seen in my life. Much less like a iron/toaster/trashcan gone wrong too.

The Mac's strong points lie in their simplistic user interface, ease in setup, stable OS and SUPERB fine-arts programs (though I've never used them myself, I've heard great stories... as well as some comical bad ones from Ebaums). However, their weak points lie in difficulty upgrading, difficulty personalizing, a lack of a second mouse button (BASTARDS!) and poor gamer software backing. Imagine what the smb does for gaming. I can't imagine how you Mac users play starcraft *shudder*

Nope. You just have a sucky cordless mouse, or you put the receiver behind your monitor or something.

To all the people who bitch about the mac mice: you are stupid. Whether you have a mac or a pc, you are going to end up buying an MX700 anyway. The mouse that comes with the system makes no difference.

It is quite a revelation after all those classic mouses/mice (?) I wasted over the years.

As for the topic: I have a PC that runs on win XP, but I'd like to try a mac some time.

I don't like that macs have only one OS (yeah yeah, there's a linux OS for it somewhere), or the other way round, that OSX only runs on mac computers. It would make everything much more accessible.
