For all the looney liberals who said Air America would last, i have come before you today to say.. I TOLD YOU SO! Now read the article that i have found on http://drudgereport.com and written by matt drudge

After just two weeks on the air, Air America Radio, the fledgling liberal talk-radio network featuring Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo, appears to have encountered serious cash-flow problems.

The CHICAGO TRIBUNE is developing a story, insiders tell DRUDGE, on how the network was pulled off the air this morning in Chicago and Los Angeles, the network's second- and third-largest markets, because, the owner of both stations said, the network bounced a check and owes him more than $1 million! A charge the network strongly denies.

A Chicago source familiar with the situation said a Multicultural representative showed up at WNTD's offices Wednesday morning, kicked out Air America's lone staffer overseeing the network's feed to the station from New York, switched over to a Spanish-language feed, and changed the locks on the doors...

Air America filed a complaint Wednesday in New York state Supreme Court charging Multicultural with breaching their contract and seeking an injunction to force Multicultural to restore the Air America broadcast on both stations.

Well...while I hate Air America, I don't think we should jump to conclusions. Drudge has been wrong before, so we'll see...

Surely big business would support a liberal radio station, by means of buying their advertising.

I mean, its not like there is any real links between the conservatives and big business, like, say, oil companies is there? Business hardly ever makes substantial donations to conservative politicians.

Hogwash....there are any number of substantial donors Air America could got...Barbara Streisand...Alex Baldwin...the majority of the Hollywood elite could easily keep Air America afloat.

The bottom line here is that they didn't have a large enough market share and audience to have advertisers risk their products on a network that could barely get off the ground.

There was a thread posted about this earlier on. Turns out that they only lost a couple of areas. They are still broadcasting.

Unless they get a sudden influx of capital, they won't be..when you lose your 2nd and 3rd biggest market areas you've got something to worry bout.

Just goes to show, when the message is trite and shrill, no one will listen, and no one will buy advertising time, except the Army.

Hey idiot. Katherine Lanpher co-hosts with Al Franken. Secondly, i'm listening to A LIVE BROADCAST RIGHT NOW via airamericaradio.com. By the way, read the other thread about this. We covered all angles of the debate there.

Hey idiot, this is what he posted:

the fledgling liberal talk-radio network featuring Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo

Meaning that the radio station features those people, not that they are on the same radio program together.

Sorry about that. Anyway been doing some research.

Apparently they have gone to court today claiming that the problem with the checks came from the media company that was hosting their station in the two cities. It's likely this will be settled fairly quickly and they will be back on the air.

But they have been doing very well. Anyone with a proper knowledge of code can see how many people have been listening through streaming audio online. And so far there's been about 2 million unique listeners listening 30-50 minutes on average.

<--Not a proper knower of computer code..lol....

Just enough knowledge for work purposes..then again..I'm perhaps too old-fashioned..I still have the same radio on my desk since 1980, forget trying to listen to streaming audio. Right now..it's a novelty..we'll see if they have staying power..
