LOL This is sooo funny... I predicted that Air America would last no longer than 6 months before it's sponsors quit out on it.

How long has it been? TWO WEEKS! Two weeks and they are already off 2 or 3 of their major markets, including Chicago!

And why? THEY BOUNCED CHECKS!

LOL Shortly after bashing Bush about going into a big deficit, it turns out these guys were shut down after having ONE MILLION DOLLARS in checks BOUNCE!

They couldn't get enough sponsors to keep them alive in the first month! LOL

They actually tried to get their network to hold off on cashing the checks! LOL

So I tuned in today to hear them on one of their only broadcast stations, in Portland, and guess what they're talking about... how the "corporate media" is putting them down :P

GET A GRIP! MEDIA IS PRIVATIZED! If you can't pay the rent, you get kicked out of the house, ESPECIALLY if you can't make your first month! :P

They are actually suing their host network for not covering for them... 'we don't have enough money! No one sponsors us! Can you please make an exception since our version of the truth needs to be heard?' :P

So there was a song, we all remember it, that was called Ironic that contained no irony. A friend, who I suspect was just trying to justify owning the album, pointed out that the song was genius for this reason: Calling a song Ironic that contains no irony demonstrated irony better than if it had listed ironic moments.

The moral being that irony getst the last laugh.

As far as the Garofalo show is concerned, they do very little call-in, if any at all, so that's not so much of an issue.

I really should let this go, cause it's not so much a relivant point, especially considering where the thread has gone, but I'm a little disapointed at my vague post.

This isn't an ironic occourance. Not getting sponsers isn't the same as mismanaging the economy, but what is really more important is contained in your post-

By jumping on them for sponsers and not for listeners it underlines the notions they are forwarding about corperation and america, they are critcizing the corperate state and the corperate state doesn't want that so they won't sponser it regardless of listeners. If it's sponser ship and media conglemerates, by not selecting or sponsering them, that causes Air America to fail then it more or less verifies what they are saying.

I'm not implying that they have good listener numbers or that I even know what they are, I'm just looking at the post and the claim of irony.
